They haven't given any indication yet when EB2 will be released.

Sometimes they get upset when you ask that question...

I heard a while back on some EB 2 thread that it could be a year or more. Not sure if that is accurate though....

Just remember the sacred mantra: "It's done when it's done and not a minute sooner"

In the future I’d refrain from asking questions like this; you see, any time an EB member sees a post like this, he has to roll his eyes and sigh exasperatedly.
And as we all now, any decent eye-rolling action takes up at least 5 minutes, that's 5 minute he could have been working on EBII!

Quickly! Delete this thread so we can play EB2 5 minutes earlier!! :clown:

I'd rather wait long till they are really done, bug-free and with all extras on and working.

Qft. It will come some day and it will be great, even greater than EB I, that's all I need to know. There are a lot not-as-great-but-still-entertaining mods and games out there, so we won't really need to worry how to kill the time.

I quess Uni should keep me occupied until I can get MedII and EBII gets out.

The first release should be a short campaign, and depending on a few factors, it could be released in the next couple of months.

Scud

Syrian Wars tutorial campaign, RIGHT? :D

DaciaJC

I thought it was the Gaza Campaign...

Scud

Gaza...Syria, a small geographical error by only a few hundred miles on my behalf. In short, the tutorial campaign will be somewhere around the Levant according to rumours. :3

The EB team recently hired 3D Realm's Duke Nukem Forever developers to help speeding up development.
Thanks to their expertise in fast game development we are now sure to release the finished product within the 21st century.

I think its a legitimate question, to ask when EB2 will be finished.

I mean, lets be honest...we all want to know the answer.

I suppose they just get tired of answering it...and when you are tired you get cranky, right?

Tellos Athenaios

Legitimate question, sure thing. Upset members because of the question? Nah. But saying "within 7 years, 3 months, 12 days and 8 hours' time" is as good an answer as any, so why not "within the next couple of rotations around the center of the galaxy; hopefully"...

A long time ago, a very precise & well-defined estimate for the upcoming release of EB was posted by The Mark. If you dig deep enough you should be able to find it; I just hope that we will be done before that time, though... :sweatdrop:

In simplier terms, there's so much work, concepting and testing of different ideas going on that trying to give an accurate estimate on anything than small defined parts of the mod would be not much different than guessing.

Previews can give you an idea of what has been more or less worked on in a semi-finished to finished shape, for the rest you might have better luck with specific questions rather than broad ones

We are sure, though, that EB2 would be completed well before the Sun engulfs Earth....

I quite like steam since it allows me to buy games at those ridiculously cheap US prices. And with the whole recession thingie they have over there, the currency conversion doesn't even add that much to the price.

Can't stand steam. But agree with the ridiculously cheap prices the amreicans have. Can't believe they are charging $110 for PS3 games and up to $130 for some of the newer packs of PC games in Australia. And they wonder why piracy is growing despite all their efforts at anti piracy tactics. Even the thread starter finds the urge to illegally download games. Although, it might be his fault that we are actually paying such huge prices now. Which came first, the chicken or the egg.

(Actually thats a stupid question, of course the egg came first. A chicken MUST hatch from an egg. But lots of animals can lay eggs. So by simple evolution a 'pre-chicken' could have laid an egg and a mutated chicken (modern chicken) hatched from it.)

Actually considering this timetable, EBII would have to be released NOW

mountaingoat
09-09-2009, 14:10
the "present" being some kind of alternate abstract time period not yet experienced since it is about 2 billion years after humans roamed the earth.

maybe someone brought this info back with some kind of flying car?

That, my friend, is an artifact from the distant future, more than 2 billion years. I'm lucky I won't live to see the gruesome Troll-wars, but it is kind of sad, I also won't live to see EB II released

Edit: I guess Mountaingoat found the explanation ~:)

HA! But we know EBII will be released within 2 Billion years. I'll let scientists freeze myself. I think in 2 Billion years we should be able to defrost people, don't we

You better hope so. Would suck to die in a big ball of ice only to have EB2 released a bit after that.

Missing the release of EB II would certainly be the worst part of dying in a big ball of ice.

In two billion years we should have time-machines invented, so we can travel back to EB time frame and feel the real feeling! :beam:

Just imagine all the "lunatics" from the fora somewhere in 272BC- that would be something! :-))

Sounds like a nice idea, but how long do you think would we last back then?:idea2: (A way to return to our time would be nice aswell:beam:)

I play only EB on . RTW game, and the only reason why i downloaded M2TW is for the mod ( i tried to play M2TW vanilla few days ago and honestly, i don't like it at all). I don't play any other games. That is not an excuse, i know, but the fact is, that i would never play this incredible mod if one friend of mine didn't bring me . RTW: i don't even know much other games, nor do i have money to buy them; since commodore64 era i'm not a "real" gamer at all.

Yeah... i guess that depends on our individual predispositions as well as context where we would find ourselves... anyway we could change the history, man! (especially you, Hun, because you would be a general)! I, for example, would stick around Carthage trying to figure out something to help Carthage beating Romans :2thumbsup:

TIME MACHINES FTW!! :laugh4:

This topic has run it's course.

Thread closed.

For clarity: the .Org does not support or condone piracy. If you want to talk about the causes or consequences of piracy, that's fine, but discussing ways to do it will get you into trouble.
