Howdy,

So there I am, going big time with the budget and building everything I can build, every alehouse, bawdy house, stewery, brewery and gooery, and each one says it adds valour +1 or +2 or +3, but I build a whack of them and some (most, all) of my troops coming out afterwards are at valor nothing or maybe 1 or 2. But given what I`ve built, I should be at about Valour +9.

What da dilio?

The bonuses are not cumulative. The Tavern line give valour to assassins only and the brothel line to spies only - there is no effect on other units.

Well not necessarily spent for naught, because you can now train up high valour spies and assassins.

Yup, it took me a while to figure this one out myself. All the +valour boni apply for the class of troops/agents this line of buildings is able to produce. And only those! Morale raising buildings work for all units afaik.

Well as Nagamasa stated, at least you can now recruit plenty of uber-spies & -assassins. ~D

Also, I believe the Brothel & Tavern line of buildings bestow a modest loyalty increase to the provinces in which they're built. (Nagamasa, care to confirm/refute this? I can never remember how that works.)

This is correct.

If I remember correctly, there are only 2 ways to increase the valour of newly recruited units. The first is to build them in certain provinces (they will be built at valour 1). The second is to build them in provinces with a master building (valour 1). The master building needs to be in the line that appears first in the build requirement in the unit_prod file and the unit must need lower than the master building to recruit. So a Master Bowyer will build valour 1 Archers, but not valour 1 Pavise Arbelesters.

Just to be absolutely nit-picking, those two boni are commulutative (I'm so tired I can't spell - do you know what I mean?) - so a master horse breeder in Armenia will produce valor 2 Armenian hvry. Cav

And for the first time I`m really using spies and assasins with extra valour. Great stuff. I fell so... evil. :yes:
