Lots of CTD's

hi, i play europa at the moment quite alot but have a serious problem of annoying CTDs. i know there are other threads about CTDs but iv seen none that relates exactly to my problem. i get CTD anywhere in the game, whether im just loading up the game or just finished a battle which is really annoying cos then i loose all wat iv just done in that battle. wen i do get these CTDs it only says 'Rome Total War has stopped working' and nothing else. Im playing on version 1.1 and hav tried to download v1.2 but i cant seem to get it to patch. Can any one help me please about these CTDs?

Someone should move this to Bug Reports and Technical Support.
And I think you have to change the folder name in the EB1,2 Installer.
Remove the [First Select where EB1.1 is installed, then remove this] part of the targeting folder

When the matchup screen comes up, before you click 'Assault'
press ~ to bring up the console and type
auto_win attacker
if you are the attacker
auto_win defender
if you are the defender

I do this to skip past battles once I've played them out to an annoying crash.

The good part is a CTD can save me from a battle going poorly and let me reset :)
But I do keep playing when my armies get crushed. Which is never :) since I always win, losses keep things interesting

yes i had done the change folder thing and that hadnt worked for me.
i already use the auto win cheat for a battle thats previously crashed on me.

i think i might just hav to reinstall it from a different site. does anyone know if its possible for me to make a copy of saved game data from my current europa from the files and then transfer it to the new one cos i have roman campaign goin on and im pretty far and i dont wonna loose it.

Yes you can if it's the same version.

I'm not sure what's different in 1.1 but I play 1.2 as it is the lastest. Here's a good tutorial on how to install with pictures courtesy of Tellos: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270 That got me playing. Random crashes will still happen if you don't have the "right" gfx card for TW series and use Vista OS. I've had one strange lock up on campaign map but you shouldn't worry about it. No one else has experienced it.
