Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow [Concluded]

In honor of talk like a pirate day, I decided to do a remake of the "gunfight at the ok corral" game with a pirate theme. I did some tweaks to the fighting system so that it won't be over so quickly.

The Admiral Benbow, a small inn located in a small town, was mainly frequented by seafarers. Sometimes it housed pirates, sometimes British officers.

Tonight, by unfortunate chance, it housed both. At first they kept a sort of uneasy truce, making show of their weapons but not attacking. But then one of the officers saw one of the pirates acting in a quite inappropriate manner with one of the wenches. He called him a lowly cur, and the pirate captains parrot called him a lowly cur right back and a fight broke out.

The innocent bystanders who were just attempting to have a quiet drink rushed for the exit, and when the opened the door a thick fog blew in.

Ok, so that's the best excuse I could come up with for people not knowing who is who


Looking for 9-13 people. No night or day periods, actions are taken in the thread, I'll post the results when I check the thread.

There is no sending of orders, it's all in the thread. And you don't have to be here every six hours. If you get attacked you will try and block automatically, and then if you happen to check with in six hours you can counterattack. Otherwise you can just try and do a regular attack.

Well I'm gonna be at a college watching a play from 2:30 to whenever it ends, so yeah that could be a few hours.

OK, sending out pm's (assuming that those who signed up but withdrew because of the 2 hour deadline and having to leave still want to play).

Different roles have different abilities, but basically you can attack someone with your weapon once every six hours. The exception being if you are fighting someone, they block your attack and you block their counterattack, you can counterattack without waiting six hours. They have a certain % chance to block (this is done automatically whether they are present or not). If block is successful, then they can counterattack with a higher chance of success. If hit, they can't do anything for six hours and lose 1/3 of their fighting ability. 3 hits and you die, 2 hits and you have a chance at being mortally wounded and dying even if you survive the fight. You will have some creative leeway with how you attack someone, but it has to be with the weapon I give you in your role pm. There aren't bolded code words that you have to post like "Attack:Sasaki, instead you say something like "stabs sasaki with sword" or however you want to say it, as long as it uses your weapon.

I turn my attention to AVSM, I whip out my pistol and begin firing at him.

Splitpersonality makes the rather revolting decision to give the bloodied dead guy a kiss, then points her finger at AVSM and says "pew pew pew". He finds this gesture adorable and can't stop staring.

I mosey my way over to AVSM and hang off of him for a little while. I'm sure he doesn't mind anyway.

GeneralHankerchief stabs slashandburn with his cutlass. It's a bit of an awkward move, considering cutlasses are not designed for stabbing, but it does significant damage nonetheless.

You are the Hot Pirate Wench

Why you hang out with the pirates when you could have a much more successful career as, say, an actress, is unknown. You were pretty annoyed when the snooty British Officer insulted the pirate who's lap you were sitting on.

At any time, you may use your looks to distract someone. They will not be able to take any action (even blocking) until you decide to quit distracting them or you get injured.

If you are wounded, you may put on your hurt face and say something like "Can't someone please help me?". The pirates have learned to ignore requests like this by now, but the British stick to their noble upbringing. While they are tending to your wounds they will be unable to do anything else. This takes 2 hours and heals half the damage.

If you are distracting someone when you are wounded, and that person is British, they will automatically start tending to your wounds, and remain distracted after that is finished.

You can only take two wounds before you die. If attacked you have a 1/2 chance of your attacker not being able to aim properly and missing. You carry no weapon.

The Pirates got quite lucky this game. Tratorix was the British superstar, a great swordsman and owner of a one-shot-kill pistol. But he attacked his antithesis, GH, whose dirty fighting style demoted Tratorix to the same ratings as a regular fighter :laugh4:

atheotes and I had a little alliance going by PM as soon as we saw we both had cutlasses. You'll notice we attacked the same people for the entire game. Shame about Tratorix though. If that wasn't a successful block at the very beginning that would have changed everything.

as soon as i saw GH use a cutlass i thought of the connection and attacked tratorix...i got a PM from GH immediately after that and we decided to work together. I was disappointed when AVSM attacked me using a cutlass...even though i was not 100% about our theory i sent a PM telling AVSM i was disappointed he attacked a mate.
GH, stood by my side, and attacked AVSM. and i was telling GH we should leave AVSM alone and that he might now have figured the cutlass connection.:yes:
We did not want to openly discuss in the thread abt it because we were seeing the swords fighting each other and didnt want to spoil that. :laugh4:

Bad about Tratorix though...it would have been different if white_eyes had not finished him :yes:

atheotes and I had a little alliance going by PM as soon as we saw we both had cutlasses. You'll notice we attacked the same people for the entire game. Shame about Tratorix though. If that wasn't a successful block at the very beginning that would have changed everything.

Your lucky, I thought about just shooting you right out of the gate, but decided it was better to attack in case you ended up being a brit. Would have changed the whole game. :laugh4:

Well I thought people with cutlasses were pirates, and people with rapiers would be British. (I honestly didn't look at the thread very well)
