PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!! ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!

Holy crap! I've not seen that one in years; it's gotta be at least a decade old by now. I actually had a hankering to read it again a few months back, but didn't get around to actually looking for it. Thanks for the link, Olaf.
While I wouldn't necessarily describe it as "awesome", I do remember being pleasantly surprised at the overall quality. It's actually pretty decent, and not just by the standards of fanfic. Your mileage may vary, of course, but IMHO it's about as believable -- and entertaining -- a Trek-vs-Wars story as you're likely to find.
I'll definitely have to go back and reread this and see if it's actually as good as I remember it. Hopefully the rose-tinted lenses don't spoil things too much. :sweatdrop:

Yeah, I bookmarked the story, and I must admit, after reading the first page, I was certain that when I have more time, I will sit down and read it in one night! Thank you so much for sharing the link with us, Olaf!: :balloon:

All i can say about that story is...HOLY CRAP.
didn't like how the federation was automatically at a disadvantage. Yes, Numerically they would be, but it would seem that in most respects, the Trek guys would be at a technological Advantage.
The Galactic Empire has WAY WAY more people, planets, and VASTLY larger territory size, as well as no restrictions on cloaking use, even if Imperial cloaking Tech would be a lot less advanced. Basically, The Fed does not use cloaking because it chooses not to. There are a few exceptions, such as the Defiant's use in the Dominion war. The Empire also has more Ships. The StarWars guys also have Lightsabers, which are WIN, and they have better Anti Gravity tech.
But the Trek guys have Far better Reactors (Matter/Anti-Matter Warp Cores beat Imperial Fusion reactors any day) They probably have better planet defenses, though the Empire probably has more than them; The Trek guys also have much better hull armor material, though the Empire hull armor may make up for this just from being way thicker.
Phasers are FAR FAR FAAAAAAAR more powerful than Turbolasers. Photon and the new Quantum Torpedo's are like Nukes when compared to the wimpy proton missiles from StarWars. They should've blown up star destroyers like gangbusters.
The Faster Than light Capabilities of the Trek guys are Higher, but the StarWars guys have a higher Standard speed for Faster than light travel. In Trek terms, the standard lightspeed travel in StarWars is roughly warp 9.4. Thats almost as fast as the fastest Trek ships.
The Sublight drive that the Trek guys use, when put up against the StarWars sublight capability, is like comparing a Ferrari to a Model T. Impulse engines win hands down.
The Trek guys have fighter craft that are much much much more advanced than the TIE fighters and Interceptors, but the Empire fields an exponentially higher number of fighters than the Trek guys.
In a ground war, once again, Trek guys have better stuff but StarWars guys have more stuff.
Trek guys have Transporters, allowing them to board ships simply by beaming, plus they have Replicators, allowing for very quick repairs.
The Empire has the Death Star, which is made of WIN and BADASS. 'nuff said. The Superlaser would make picard crap his pants.
Both sides have really vulnerable engines. Warp nacelles for the Trek guys and the sublight engines for the StarWars guys.
The Trek guys have much better medical tech and knowledge.
StarWars guys have THE FORCE. 'nuff said.
Trek guys have vastly more precise weaponry and targeting systems.
Trek Starships also have much better sensor arrays. Vastly better. They also have better Shielding.

...And that will be it from our military historian and analyst Dr. Sextus. In other news, the Vulcans are appalled and lambasting the Jedi "Knights" for their utterly indirected, illogical behaviour...
You know, there is a reason why it's called science fiction.

No, I was just smiling at the very serious (well, somewhat) and detailed analysis of AS. I always found somethign inherently interesting in such esoteric debates on works of fiction... I am certain I am not the only one sharing this sentiment.

I've read a few Halo vs Star Wars fanfics that were almost as good.
Then again, I never watched Star Trek, so I probably couldn't appreciate this one fully.

And I have no idea what Halo is (except that it is a popular game). But never watching Star Trek? You are not a sci-fi fan are you?
I never had time to watch match of Star Trek - only the six films and a few telly series, but I can still appreciate the quality of the piece Olaf brought the spotlight on.
I'm a sci-fi fan, but I've never watched star trek. Not to say that I wouldn't like to if some one gave it to me, but there's no way I'm going go and buy the episodes myself.

Oh, I am.
I was teasing you... Your location is a Lovecraft quote. But what sort fo sci-fi fan has never seen at least three Star Trek films or series? I have never quite got into Star Trek (not enough time) but I still know enough about it.
