Who exactly was Agathokles? I've done a little searching to find some background info about him and his son Eugenios but the only thing I can find are an Agathokles who lived in Syrakousai and was assassinated because he was so hated. Another was the stepson of Arsinoe, who had him killed. However, I can't find anything about an Agathokles of Rhodes. Can someone please give me some info about him or perhaps direct me to information about him? Thanks!

Ah. So if I understand it right, he was basically just a leading citizen of the city and not a ruler, per se. Here's another question. Why is Rhodes a member of the Koinon? Everything I've read about the Chremonidean War says Athens and Sparta, backed by Ptolemy II, were the major players but don't mention Rhodes.
Rhodos was Egypt's main ally in the area. If the KH was bankrolled by Ptolemy, then the involvement of Rhodos is almost a certainty.
