Bought a new pc&Keyboard.

Now the problem: The keyboard keeps returning to some stupid setting where it screws the !@#$5;.>,<} thingies up.

So when I want a @ it will actually type a " or when I want a ? it types a =

Pressing CTRL+Shift helps... for about 1 minute, after that it seems to magicly switch back to the annoying setting.

I think when setting up the pc I changed the keyboard from US (international) to Dutch, maybe this has something to do with it? I can't locate this setting, not even in the configuration screen...

:furious3:

Help me... please... before I cut the keyboard throw it in the cameldung.

The control panel has a search function (or at least the Vista one has): you may want to look for keyboard layout.

EDIT: As a last resort you could try a bundled driver. But unless it's a fancy keyboard with programmable keys and what not... *shudder*

It is the language settings on the computer does not match the keyboard.

For instance, on US keyboards, that @and " are reversed (for whatever reason) so I use the GB (United Kingdom) setting as my keyboard is United Kingdom style.

Not sure where you are from, or where you bought your keyboard, but I presume you just have to change it under keyboard settings.

Solution: Get some white-out and a pen. Cover over the symbols, then write in the correct on on each key. Problem solved. Root cause analysis shows that your horrible, heretical love for camels has caused this. You will suffer continual hardships until you renounce this heresy and come in to the righteous truth.

Or you could just go into the keyboard settings in your control panel and change this to the right layout. :clown:

Problem solved... thanks everyone.

There was a small keyboard icon to the bottom right of the screen, near the clock. D´oh!
