Are you kidding me? I think I've paid over 400$ on multiple copies of the TW games.

What I enjoy is that they still sell the normal copy of E:TW for $99.95 in store, yet if you buy that, you get SF and every other one as well...

I read this is exclusive to Austrailia and New Zealand which is a shame.

Even so, my point is:
Whats the exclusive ingame stuff for N:TW?

Oh and STW and MTW aren't supported anymore (and don't work on some (most?) newer computers) so there selling an anthology that won't work for 2/5th of the content.

I am sure they updated them before putting them on a DVD for sale.
They have enough headaches without releasing an Anthology where only about have the content works.
I suppose if you want working copies of these two titles this is the way to go, though the price is hefty.

Yeah, it's the other top corner that seems more interesting, especially when STW/MTW have been largely unplayable for players with newer Nvidia cards.

Hey Pever, you from Aussieland too? interesting box I must say, although I'm not getting it, 100 bucks, paid that for the special forces edition of empire which turned out to not be the collectors edition anyway, that NTW stuff just speaks of moneygrabbing, I'm tired of these exclusives, I have an original Ultima 7 box, from 1990. It came with the game, a cloth map, and a small plasticy medallion, and manual of course all printed, in a very nice box, no exclusive units, If I'm buying a game I want the whole thing, not everyone has 1000 dollars to spend on total war to make sure they have everything, not impressed, a VERY good deal for someone who has never bought a total war game before and you could certainly recommend it to them, but still, amazing! I suppose these things have to come out though, thats what everyone gets for preordering! lol just wait 6 months and buy all of them at once, oh well thats the luck of the draw.

Indeed it is.
I'm up in sunny queensland, as are Warluster and sapi. Neither of them post too much anymore.
NSW is home to CountArach and Rythmic (now Pyschonaut).
Vic has Captain Blackadder.
WA has a few, but I can't remember any usernames right now
SA...well theres you and Curry Wurry.
Aside from that list of active and prominant aussies, no one else interested in these 'exclusive' items?
Probably another unit. Single, unit. Reskinned.

100 Aussie Bucks...that’s €61.35 & $91.45 or 56.59 Pounds which is more than most of us paid for the SF Edition of ETW.
It might be nice to have Shogun and MTW updated to work on my machine but I don’t know that it is worth that much.
As to undisclosed artifacts from NTW...who wants a pig in a poke?

yes, computer games are OBSCENELY expensive in australia... no where else is charged as much as us, and yes we like complaining aboutit as much as possible too lol
100 dollars is the standard price of a new game here unless its a collectors edition, so that would be like buying a new game which isn't too bad. Although rethinking the issue I'm suprised they didn't wait until 6 months after NTW...

100 for a PC, and now its 110 for a console.
 Import from the UK. Much, much cheaper.

Yeah that guy too.
What?
I don't see you around too much. Play mafia and I'll remember you.
Oh and also Papewaio, Motherwaio and babywaio.
Can't forget them.
I am sure they updated them before putting them on a DVD for sale.
Actually, I very strongly doubt that they did. In fact, I'd bet money that they didn't.
CA/Sega has been selling the Gold/Eras edition of STW and MTW for years now, but without bothering to make either one compatible with newer hardware. (Trust me, the number one complaint I see from people regarding these two games is that they can't get them to run on their modern PC's, with video cards and/or video drivers often being the main culprit.) Why would they invest the resources do do so now?
That was a rhetorical question. Answer: They wouldn't.
It might be nice to have Shogun and MTW updated to work on my machine but I don’t know that it is worth that much.
Well, since I can practically guarantee that neither game will run on your machine anyway, you're better off just saving your money. Seriously.

Wow, I thought they were USA $'s for a second and was like... And then I realized it was Aussie $'s... but then I realized that the yare almost even after American currency tanked... And then I face palmed myself that the publishers never update their pricings to reflect actual exchange rates *facepalm*.

I always heard games were expensive in Australia, but this much??
I can't complain about game prices in Norway anymore.
And the cynic in me thinks CA/SEGA is trying to boost NTW sales with whatever they can. I'm fairly certain some key management suits have noticed the Metacritic score.
And I hope, really hope that SEGA lets STW & MTW be available on gog.com in the future. Thats a guaranteed 20 $ from me.

Base price since forever (in my memory) has been $100.

more like 100 for 3 games , unless they update the direct draw problem with nvidia series 8+ cards

The only thing that would make it worthwhile would be a fix for STW/MTW; outside of that I see little incentive to buy another TW game. (unless of course NTW is just mind blowing in its goodness and delivery on the promise that was TW)

ahem
Also a Perth boy, so that's two of us. :beam:
One thing I have to say about leaving Australia, is that computer games are much, much cheaper in nearly every other part of the world.
And for the life of me, I have absolutely no idea why that should be so.

Freight. Because is sooo expensive.
Ignore the fact I can buy and ship a game for half the price it is in stores.

you goto pay for that pimple faced boy to pick his nose all day in your local EB store

I'm sad we couldn't control Australia to take over the world in ETW.
If we did there'd be public holidays every Monday
Friday lunchtime early knock off and enforced pub attendance
Followed by PPP nights
and vegemite on toast every morning for breakie
They (CA) thought about including us in the lastest patch but people were complaining the game already had enough 'black knight' suicidal nations

New Holland! it would have been veeeerrrryyyy kewl to be able to go there. You'd think with one of the CA teams they might have done something for the australian dev team and the australians! but no, they love selling us games at rediculous prices, but to do something for australians? bah not enough of a consumer base.

I read this is exclusive to Austrailia and New Zealand which is a shame.
I hope it's not true. As a collector fanboy (shame on me but TW is the only series I've played from start to the last game) who owns every thing product I'll still buy it just to have it, even if I probably won't play it. :embarassed:

At least for germany it is announced for the end of this year. But i think if it comes out here it will be published all across europe, too.

But will the Empire:TW come with the special stuff included in the package? Apart from the special units.
pevergreen
10-18-2009, 15:16
As in pre-order units? No.
Its just the normal Special Forces pack.
For the same price and also includes all the rest of Total War...minus R:TW Alexander I believe.

Once you register on steam you get the other units if you have the SF addition. DLC units cost extra.
