I am more than a little tired of it.

I just saw that the Ferguson Rifles fire 3.3 times per min.

Guards Line Infantry fire 5.5 times a min.

The Ferguson Rifle was noted for firing 9 times a min. That was why it was a big deal!

The Windbüchse Jaegers who should be about as fast as Ferguson’s are firing 5.5

Regular rifles shoot 1.2. Now it should be more like 2.1

Couple that with the pitiful way the nerffed mortars, took rifles from Austria, and deprived the French of Light Dragoons, you just have to wonder what the hell they are thinking of...

Now with France they may not want them to have a policing bonus, but you know I don’t think those bonuses work in France and Spain any way.

There are lots of other examples, I just don’t feel like filling two pages with one post.

it would certainly speed up battles where you line off infantry against one another

Windbüchse Jaegers

Shouldn't these guys be able to fire much faster than Ferguson Rifles? Ferguson Rifles were breach loaders. The air rifles had a magazine in 22 rounds which could be emptied in 30 seconds if wikipedia is to be believed. Both of these were used for special skirmishing/elite groups.

Yes , Windbüchse should be a lot faster though do less damage per shot and probably have shorter range {still equal or better than muskets though , probably better} .

I've noticed the vanilla ranges are silly also .
I would put line infantry {and militia , conscripts and citizenry} musket range at about 100 meters , light infantry musketry at 100 - 125 meters , Windbüchse at 150 meters and rifles at 200 meters .
In some cases , deliberate kills with rifles were recorded at more than half a kilometer {one Greenjacket managed 2 at roughly 800 meters at Waterloo} so the 125 they origonally had for rifles was plain rediculous .
