View Full Version : Serial Killer Game [Concluded]

SERIAL KILLER

I hosted a previous incarnation of this down at Total War Center. Here is the thread (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=291594). Reading this game may give you an idea of what kinds of clues I leave. However I will be changing my style to keep it slightly unpredictable after a successful catching of the serial killer.

This is similar in some respects to a mafia game except everyone playing is on the side of the "town". You'll be getting clues every day. You need to deduce who the Serial Killer is. It is not the game host and will probably not be anyone playing the game. In other words, the Serial Killer I have chosen is unaware they are the Serial Killer. However, they are a member of Totalwar.org.

The Serial killer (person I choose randomly) will be killing certain people. These may be specific people, to give the Serial Killer some kind of signature. For higher difficulty, a single kill among the others will not conform to the standard style. For maximum difficulty, the kills will be mostly random. However, accusing or arresting can be hazardous to your health, if you accuse or arrest incorrectly. If you die, you can no longer win against the current serial killer.

Rules:
Anyone can play. If you think you know who the Serial Killer is, post

Arrest: (name)

in bold. If you simply want to make an accusation, post

Accuse: (name)

If you are the first to Arrest the Serial Killer, you win.
If you are the first to Accuse the Serial Killer, you automatically get at least second place.
If you Arrest the wrong person, the Serial Killer has a 1 in 2 chance of killing you.
If you Accuse the wrong person, the Serial Killer has a 1 in 20 chance of killing you.
If you Accuse the right person, the Serial Killer has zero chance of ever killing you. (Could be an important part of your strategy)
You can only make one accusation per phase.
You can only make one arrest per phase.
You can accuse and arrest in a single day if you wish. (two different suspects)
Every phase will last at least 24 hours, possibly 48 once things get rolling. You can discuss with the other players ("detectives") and compare notes. You never know, they might be able to help you solve the case. Or perhaps you'll end up solving it for them... :sweatdrop:

To play the game, make an accusation.

You may also indicate you are playing by posting "IN"

NEW RULES

Ok. Now that we have gotten a feel for the game, it's time to up the ante. There will be something every one of the murder victims have in common. Remember, there's only so many members of the .org, and I'm not going to be digging through the massive amount of 200 post-count and below members to find more victims. The amount of victims killed per night relates to how large the victim pool is. If there's only a few people meeting the criteria, then there will only ever be a few victims. If there's a larger victim pool, then it will start off with more victims and it will increase exponentially every day until they are all gone.

1. When the pool of victims is depleted, the Serial Killer will roll a six sided die and take out that many remaining detectives. Who those detectives are will be determined by random.org.

So it is now possible for the Serial Killer to win the game outright.

2. Any 24-hour phase where there are no accusations or arrests will also result in a Serial Killer victory.

Typically you'll be given 5 to 6 days to safely solve the case. After a week, prepare to die. Please be aware of these changes. Are you ready? :holmes:

Added Rules:

For arrests to count, you must correctly ID something I intended to be a clue, (besides the letter clues) in the way it was intended, and state that as evidence during your arrest.

For now, accusations will not require a case.

The killer has a D in his name. Unlikely that it starts with a D too obvious. Pizza would never start with that as a clue. Martyr was killed for his communist tendancies so its likely the killers SN has something to do with ANTI-Communisim. Additionally the keyword CRACK should be noted.

I'll make no accusations or arrests just yet and wait to collect a few more clues.

Given that the list of suspects includes only members of totalwar.org, with a certain post count range, and fitting certain criteria, you don't even need to know the person in question to be able to solve it. However, it may take a few days to gather clues.

Beskar is the winner. AggonyDuck was the serial killer.

I have no :daisy: clue how Beskar solved it based on those obscure clues, so perhaps he would like to explain. I suppose it was technically possible to solve it based on those clues, but... in a scary, you'd-have-to-be-inside-my-brain kind of way. I am seriously scared. There are a LOT of people on the .org. For Beskar to have picked correctly is unbe-(expletive)-lievable. Congratulations. Not only did everyone survive the game, but you caught the Serial Killer before he was able to kill his second victim. Congratulations again. Now I have to come up with a whole different Serial Killer and try this again. Dang, Beskar!!! :laugh4: :sweatdrop: :laugh4: :sweatdrop:

A perfect score.

Now... as is customary... I'll explain "all" the clues... :sweatdrop:

Day One:

_Martyr_ was killed last night; he died for his pinko principles. It was very painful.

The Serial Killer left a clue:

Do you have what it takes to crack this case? I have over 700 posts but less than 3000

_Martyr_

His avatar is very similar to AggonyDuck's avatar. The clue here was GOING TO BE that everyone AggonyDuck killed would have a similar avatar.

It was very painful.

AggonyDuck reminds me of pain.

Do you have what it takes

AggonyDuck has a "D" in his name.

crack this case.

All the clues would rhyme with "quack". First day was "crack", next day would have been "whack", etc... quack makes you think of a duck. And the 700-3000 range would have solved it from there. So there was a reason for all those clues... but I didn't think anyone would solve it Day One. I am going to chalk this up to a random guess or a fluke. Otherwise I am now officially scared of Beskar.

That was the most obvious clue. I pretty much went for AggonyDuck as when reading, I thought of his name, as opposed to being the first letter, it was a capital D in the middle of the name...

CDF, use different names. Using the same name is pointless for both.

From what I gather, each round, ATPG adds another letter, thus there will be capital(or pural) depending on the name and lowercase for the lowercase stuff.

With this logic in mind, it isn't going to be a short name (Sorry Zim), and other clues distinctly say things such as postcount. My hunch is that it is some one on that list, however, I am not sure who, as I don't have the .org notice. For instance, who is Orda Khan? As for the hero clue, is it like "Ichigo" for instance? (No, it isn't him, invalidates postcount rule, was my first guess at a quick glance)

I am going to take a calculated stab -

Double A was off trying to arrest Ibn-Khaldun, but he accidentally ran into a street lamp and was seeing double. Somehow he managed to survive.
Ibn-Khaldun tried to blitz his way to victory but it seems he was too slow. Nevertheless, the one trying to kill him was even slower. He survived.Day Two Summary:

Murders:

This guy fits perfectly.

Ichigo is the winner. therother was the serial killer.

This time I have to believe it was not a random guess. Based on Ichigo's response, it must have been by the clues. A hard-won victory for the town, and a personal victory for Ichigo.

I made this one a bit more difficult, and I chose someone that I felt no one would guess immediately, or perhaps, even knew personally. I had run across therother (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/member.php?u=1535) in The Guild FAQ (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=45416) page, so he is a big name around here, or was at one point, I am sure. I didn't know him personally but he's a senior member, so I figured someone might have known him.

This time the clues were difficult to begin with. Explained:

Day One:

Orda Khan was sent back from whence he came. Only, you know, a little deader.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

I'm holding out for a hero. I have over 500 posts but less than 5000

H

Clues: almost everyone he kills has a mongolian avatar.
Over 500 posts but less than 5000
the word "hero"

therother has a mongolian avatar.
The postcount is obvious.
The word "hero"

Ok, the word hero makes this one solvable on the first round. Go to the members list and do a search for "hero". The only one with a mongolian avatar is therother. The only one with a postcount of 500-5000 is therother. Well except for Theronin.

Chances of solving this one on the first round were very good, but only if you did that search.

Day Two Summary:

Tratorix died.
Beskar died.
The other detectives survived.

Murders:

Gobbledygook was mortally wounded, but when he tried to call out for help, no one understood him.
Malik of Sindh was trampled by elephants before he could call a jihad.
Wladyslaw IV had his heart and viscera torn out and interred in the Chapel of St. Casimir of Vilnius Cathedral.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

I'd love to play tag, but I can only do it on this table.

O

Table tag (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=40986).

If you do a yahoo search for "the guild table tag" the first entry is this thread, and the third post is by therother.

All those being killed have a mongolian avatar.

Day Three Summary:

A Very Super Market died.
atheotes died.
Centurion1 was not attacked.
The other detectives survived.

Murders:

Yaseikhaan was about to change his name one more time, but he was taken down by his evil twin.
Baba Ga'on was buried up to his head in sand and the fire ants ate him alive.
R'as al Ghul was plotting the destruction of Gotham city, but he died in a train crash.
Kongamato.... the principle that occurred to him was death, indeed.
Lehesu was pushed into a soy processing machine. It was not a very healthy alternative.
Louis de la Ferte Ste Colombe was cannibalized by a bunch of tiny smurfs.
Al Khalifah was slain, his head placed atop a wooden stick, and became the lord of the flies.
Cebei died when a desk fell on him.
master of the puppets was very agitated by his own death. He never made it to the spin cycle.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

One of these victims is not like the other. You should be able to tell which one.

R

Yaseikhaan was taken down by his evil twin. Yaseikhaan and therother have the exact same avatar.

"the other" almost matches "therother".

One of these victims is not like the other: one of the victims has an egyptian avatar, all the others have a mongolian avatar.

Day Four Summary:

spL1tp3r50naL1ty survived.
All the other detectives survived.

Murders:

Abokasee was destroyed by the Bartixian hordes. Also a thing that replaces the ram but fires fire.
Krasturak wasn't sleeping in a coffin tonight, but he will be tomorrow.
Productivity won't be very productive anymore.
russia almighty was making brownies when his oven exploded.
Raz has an interesting life, o_O but also an interesting death.
shingenmitch2 was killed by THE DEADLY SHINGEN.
dopp confiscated a sword right into his stomach. It hurt a little bit.
Wolfman was torn apart by a wolf, man.
Crash crashed.
the man with no name also had no pulse.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

My name is almost double. I'm running out of victims... one of these folks is not like the other.

T

Almost all of the remaining mongolian avatar users died this day. I seriously was running down to the low hundreds in post count to find more. The man with no name was the one who was not like the others.

My name is almost double. otherother.... therother. Running out of victims refers to the number of mongolian avatar users left.

Day Five Summary:

Cultured Drizzt Fan was killed.
All the other detectives survived.

Murders:

Kukrikhan was killed by the kookiest of khans.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

I'm a fiend like no other. Do your research!

E

Letters so far: O, T, H, E, R

Kukrikhan is one of therother's friends.

Kookiest of khans... khan refers to Yaseikhaan, kookiest would be therother... Khaan's evil twin, basically. Kind of a stretch but it's there.

Finally: therother's title is "Research fiend".

Solved by Ichigo in 5 days.

Clear victory. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Will you use similar clues as last round or change them up every round?

With each successful arrest, some of the clue types will change. However, the one thing that will remain stable is the letter clues. Even if you fail to understand all the other clues, the letters basically give you a piece of their name anyway. The objective being to figure out the name before everyone else, and so the harder clues will yield the name sooner, but will be more difficult to solve.

I also try to make the puzzle solvable on day one, but very difficult.

Iskander 3.1 is the winner. Ser Clegane was the serial killer.

Day One:

Hosakawa Tito was burned to death by fire, and then frozen in ice.

The Serial Killer has left a clue:

I have over 4,000 posts, and I will bring my three dogs against you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_houses_in_A_Song_of_Ice_and_Fire#House_Clegane

House Clegane

House Clegane is sworn to House Lannister. The first Ser Clegane was kennelmaster at Casterly Rock until he saved Lord Tytos Lannister from a lion and lost a leg in the effort. As a reward, Lord Tytos gave him lands and a towerhouse and took his son as his squire. Their sigil is three dogs on a yellow field; the three dogs represent the dogs that saved Lord Tytos.

Ser Clegane is a character in George R. R. Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Song_of_Ice_and_Fire)

I did not know this myself, I have no clue what is in these stories. However, it's a fantasy series set on the fictional continent of Westeros. I might assume some of you are aware of this series, even though I was not. Just a little bit of digging on the web, YAHOO SEARCH "Ice fire three dogs" leads to entry number 7, which is Sandor Clegane. That should have cinched it, even if you were unaware of the series, as long as you know fire, ice, and three dogs were clues. GOOGLE SEARCH "ice fire three dogs" leads to entry number 6, which is House Clegane.

My zeal to make it solvable on the first round appears to have backfired. Even random guessing would give you reasonable odds on solving this one, I didn't check to see how relatively few members there were with over 4,000 posts. I'll have to increase the difficulty.

Congratulations Iskander 3.1 for solving it on round one.

GeneralHankerchief is correct. Reenk Roink was the serial killer!!!!

Wow. Okay I admit this one might have been hard. However, there were three major clue paths which all lead to Reenk Roink, in case the main clue was indecipherable. You may want to check out these clues. It's pretty interesting.

Day One:

Leet Eriksson was killed by a bag of pearls flung at high velocity.

The Serial Killer left a clue:

Does the number ten mean anything to you? I have between 1,000 and 5,000 posts.

Okay, here's how it goes.

The letter N starts you off with the hangman clue path. Reenk Roink has two N's in his name.

A bag of pearls. This is the unusual method of death. it was also the only death which did not involve a band name. Why? Pearl was part of a band name. Pearl Jam.

How does Pearl jam relate to Reenk Roink? Google "Pearl Jam Reenk Roink" and you will find out. :eyebrows: Ever wonder what Reenk Roink means? That's what it means. :2thumbsup:

ten. The number ten. Well... not so much the number ten. How about the album, Ten?

Pearl Jam's Ten album. Relates specifically and only to Reenk Roink. With the letter N and the post count, if you knew the trivia regarding Reenk's name, this was solveable on round one. But I didn't seriously believe anyone would. Very difficult if you don't know the obscure origin of "Reenk Roink".

Post count between 1,000 and 5,000 helps you narrow down suspects when combined with other clues.

Day Two:

Retaliation:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Splitpersonality died because he couldn't manage his split enz.
Beskar engaged in a bitter feud, but survived the duel. He was given five for fighting.

Day Two Summary:

All the other detectives survived.

Day Two Murders:

Kagemusha raged against the machine and was promptly destroyed.
Ironside was thrown inside an iron maiden.
woad&fangs was bitten by a white snake.

The Serial Killer left a clue:

In case you're wondering, I'm still alive.

The letter E continues the hangman path of clues.

On day two, all the murders involve band names.

Split Enz
Five for Fighting
Shinedown
Drowning Pool
The Script
Nickelback
Rage against the Machine
Iron Maiden
Whitesnake

Pearls, plus band names.... plus "I'm still alive"... gets you thinking about:

1. Music
2. Bands in particular
3. Pearl jam in particular
4. The song "alive" by Pearl Jam, on the album "Ten"
5. Which leads you to the rare CD clue.... Rare Pearl Jam Ten album, Reenk Roink. :2thumbsup:

Now, here comes the fun. The murder victims are all players of Capo de Tutti Capi. Specifically, the mafia at first.

That leads you down the third clue path, the Capo III players path. Again, in case you didn't get the Pearl Jam clues, the Capo clues and the letter clues and the post count clue.

NEW RULES

:holmes:

Day One:

Gaius Scribonius Curio was killed when he ate a poisoned mushroom.
Byzantine Knight died when a flickering monitor was dropped on his head.
julius caesar the first was killed by the giant's knife.

Ah wait, didn't see the difference between accuse and arrest.

Arrest: Chaotix

I guess I picked a clue set that you were all too familiar with, Congrats on getting two in a row, Inspector Hankerchief.

GeneralHankerchief is correct. Chaotix was the serial killer.

Day One:

Gaius Scribonius Curio was killed when he ate a poisoned mushroom.
Byzantine Knight died when a flickering monitor was dropped on his head.
julius caesar the first was killed by the giant's knife.

The Serial Killer has left a clue:

Bwahahaha.... I'll destroy your whole world with the Genesis device.

edit: Posts between 1,000 and 5,000

The hangman letter: H
Post count 1,000 to 5,000

Victim clues:

Gaius, Knight, and JC all have similar style avatars to Chaotix.

Murder clues:

poisoned mushroom is a reference to Super Mario Brothers, the lost levels.
flickering monitor is a reference to the item boxes in the Sonic the Hedgehog series of games.
Giant's knife is a reference to the Legend of Zelda series of games.

The Sonic reference matches Chaotix because "Team Chaotix" were characters in the Knuckles Chaotix game.

Serial Killer clue:

Bwahahahaha in Comic Sans MS font is a reference to the Council of Villains game where I played Bowser, hosted by Chaotix.

Genesis is a reference to the Sega Genesis. Chaotix is a Sega trademarked character.

From these, GeneralHankerchief was able to solve the case on the first round, really. Just forgot to arrest, not accuse. He automatically gets at least second place for the first correct accusation.

Day Two:

Retaliation:

Ichigo was shot in the head by the BFG 9000.

Ichigo died.
Everyone else survived.

Day Two murders:

Motep was exploded by the ASMD Shock Rifle.
Sarathos was shot by the M1 Garand.
The Lemongate was blasted by the Hand Cannon.
MarcusAureliusAntoninus was blown apart by the Super Shotgun.
Mikeus Caesar was frozen by the Ice Beam.
Reenk Roink was blown apart by the Cerebral Bore.
Aemilius Paulus was impaled by the Master Sword.
Hurin Rules was hacked to pieces by the Blades of Chaos.
TevashSzat was blasted to bits by the menacing Death Egg.

The Serial Killer has left a clue:

I'm feeling mighty with my brass knuckles.

Hangman letters: T, H.

Murder clues:

BFG 9000 is a Doom reference. The murder theme is video game weapons.
All the other murders are also video game references.

Blades of Chaos is a less than subtle hint.
Death Egg refers to Dr. Robotnik's flying Death Star-like battle station, another reference to the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Serial Killer clue:

Mighty the Armadillo and Knucles the Echidna are other starring characters in the Knuckles' Chaotix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knuckles%27_Chaotix) game.

Easy peasy lemon squeezie.

A job well done... only one detective dead and a relatively short list of victims.

Overwhelming Victory for the town,
and a personal victory for GeneralHankerchief.

-----

Oh, and I'm no longer announcing the failed murders. This way if you make the correct accusation, it's not blatantly obvious when you aren't attacked the next day. The rules were otherwise pretty broken. But you still retain total immunity to being killed by that serial killer if you randomly guess correctly on the accusation, and then arrest the wrong person.

It's one of the benefits of accusing rather than arresting. :2thumbsup:

Okay, on to a new round... and a new Serial Killer.

I still need to tweak the rules a little... I'd like to encourage "making a case" against the arrested parties. Actual law enforcement don't just run around arresting randomly; they have to have a reason. Well, that's the theory anyway. :laugh4:

I need to figure out how to reward case-building in this game. I was thinking something along the lines of.... arrests do not work unless you correctly link one of the actual clues to the correct murderer. Correctly identifying incriminating evidence should be how you make the arrest. It's also satisfying to state your case and have no one be able to refute it.

I wish I could make it so the other detectives might even get some kind of brownie points for refuting bad cases. I know there's a way to do it but I need to figure out how to make it both fun and fair, and retain the spirit of the game that we have running now.

:juggle2: Ah hosting... so many challenges, so little time.

Player and bystander input is welcome on improving the game.

johnhughthom
10-24-2009, 18:29
You could need one piece of evidence to make an accusation, two to make an arrest. Whether other players could use the same evidence for their accusations/arrests I'm not sure, perhaps not until the player who pointed to the evidence first is killed?

Reenk Roink
10-24-2009, 18:35
I like your case rewarding idea Atpg, and john's suggestion seems to be a good way to implement it. I was going to go and type /in and point out that Chaotix would never like Genesis as much as Nintendo and so with all the video game related deaths it must be him but apparently everyone else got the clues first. :wall: :beam:

He would have been the only one that I'd have gotten early in this game too (aside from myself of course - the first clues were a dead giveaway but I did have some trouble with all the bands... I was like, I don't listen to a lot of these! :laugh4:).

johnhughthom
10-24-2009, 18:41
Taking the post count/letters from the name out of the game (maybe start doing it on day 5 or so) would encourage different cases being built up and less of making up a list of candidates and then thinking up a case.

edit: though that obviously makes it a lot harder on you to think up various clues...

10-24-2009, 18:48
How quickly would you have gotten yourself, Reenk? :beam:

The day 1 clue. The 'pearls' initially passed over my head because I'm not a very careful reader, but the mention of 'ten' with the bold and underline caught my eye. Then looking back at pearl... I killed fiz too! :embarassed:

The thing that made it weird was that there were other clues that were obvious, but they were mixed in with bands that I really don't listen to (aside from AIC and GNR :2thumbsup: maybe some others). Good on you for looking it up too, I get asked that too many times... :laugh4:

Askthepizzaguy
10-24-2009, 19:00
Here's the thing about the letter clues;

If I picked a Serial Killer that you've never heard of, and knew nothing about, out of the .org's thousands of members, it would take forever to solve the game and you'd all end up dead.

The letter clues are like a last-ditch effort to make the case solvable when you're really stumped. If you wish I can remove the post count clue, though you have to admit, it just makes it that much harder to weed out candidates.

The post count clue and the letter clues are designed such that if you THINK you know the answer, you can have one or two last lines of defense to stop yourself if you are wrong. Much like a police detective might cross off a suspect because the blood spatter at the scene of the crime is of a different blood type... or perhaps DNA evidence clears them... etc. Perhaps they had an alibi, too?

Basically, it catches you in some cases from having a bad case. But it's obviously not totally effective, as many suspects will match in post count range and in various letters.

I like these clues, and these are the measure which prevents me as the game host from picking clues that are too hard or too obscure, because there will always be letter and post count clues which eventually solve the case... though based on just those alone, you're more likely to die due to the Serial killer getting you. These clues make it solvable (technically) even without further clues by deduction and a lucky guess. If I narrow the suspects down to about 30 people out of thousands and thousands, then there are enough of you to "lucky guess" the Serial Killer. Then the additional clues along the way make it so you could exhaustively narrow it down.

But it's hard to reduce the suspect list to a manageable level. And that's why following the other clue leads gives you an advantage over the other detectives who haven't solved those clues. The competition is in solving it faster with fewer leads, or at least personally narrowing down your own suspect list to make educated guesses good enough to possibly win.

The thing that made it weird was that there were other clues that were obvious, but they were mixed in with bands that I really don't listen to

Yeah... basically I was just trying to get an overall theme of music in general, and then get people thinking "band names" and then get them thinking "okay, band names... but which band am I looking for?"

It made sense in my head, but I can see where it gets confusing. There is a line of reasoning there, but it's intentionally convoluted to make it harder to follow. Narcissistic psychopaths who murder for glee sometimes create convoluted reasons to kill someone, or leave very obscure clues. I think I'm just demented enough to mimic that behavior.

Arrest: PROMETHEUS

Gave Mankind fire. Had his liver eaten by crows everyday. All letters fit.

Csargo is correct.

PROMETHEUS was the Serial Killer. Congratulations, Inspector Csargo!

And now onto the clue explanations.

All right, attempting to make it more difficult.

Day One:

Warmaster Horus died.

The Serial killer left behind a copy of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

The first victim was Warmaster Horus... Horus is a god in Egyptian mythology. The theme would be mythological deities/beings.

The Serial killer clue "Atlas Shrugged" compounded the mythological deity theme, and indicated that the Serial killer would be a mythological deity in name. As such, there were very few potential suspects.

Atlas was one of the sons of Iapetus, the brother of Prometheus. Given the clues, it was plausible to suggest PROMETHEUS as the Serial killer on the first round, but it would have been perhaps the most fitting candidate out of many, not really a slam dunk. I would suggest that any solving of the case on this round would be due more to a lucky guess than a conclusive case.

Day Two:

Retaliation:

All the detectives survived.

Day Two Murders:

Sol Invictus died.
Thor the Bassist died.

The Serial killer left behind a copy of O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Here, two more gods died, indicating that the SK was a god.

O Brother Where Art Thou indicates "brother" which, combined with the first clue, gives you the brother of Atlas, one of whom was Prometheus. Solving the case on this round was very possible.

Day Three:

Retaliation:

All the detectives survived.

Day Three Murders:

Asmodeus died.
El Diablo died.
Death the destroyer of worlds died.

The Serial killer left behind a copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Three more gods died. Death (in mythology, Death is a god) El Diablo (the Devil, a kind of evil god) and Asmodeus, king of the demons.

Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire would indicate fire in this context. Prometheus is said to have given mankind the gift of fire, in Greek myth.

Brother of Atlas, god, fire ===> Prometheus.

Day Four:

Retaliation:

Renata died.
All the other detectives survived.

Day Four Murders:

Dionysus9 died.
Fate died.
Beelzebub died.
Loki died.

Warning: Victim pool getting low.

The Serial killer complained that his liver felt like it was being devoured.

4 more gods died, and my victim pool was down to a couple.

Liver being devoured was actually solvable by Google search. "liver being devoured", third entry "Prometheus". Then it was a question of checking the database for a member called Prometheus, of which there are three, but only one with just the name.

Day Five:

Retaliation:

Johnhughthom survived an attack.

Day Five Murders:

Leviathan Darklycute died.
Cyclops died.
pevergreen died.
shlin28 died.
Lord Winter died.

Warning: Victim pool is gone! Detectives are being murdered now!

The Serial Killer's favorite WWE superstar is Mankind. He might consider our serial killer to be the true champion.

Prometheus gave the fire to man, and was a champion of mankind. Inactive detectives bit the dust first.

4 detectives died and the entire victim pool was destroyed. However, the Serial Killer was arrested in 5 days, and the case was solved by Csargo. Congratulations!

:balloon2: :balloon2: Marginal town victory, personal victory for Csargo. :balloon2: :balloon2:

Before I forget, Renata solved this one just after she died. But she wanted others to have a chance to solve it, and she couldn't win the game at that point.

Do we still have people interested in playing? :beam:

I R WINRAR!!!

I'm still playing obviously. I was kind of put off by having to give reasons for arresting people though. It does take away from the random guessing, but I for one enjoy accusing other people of murdering other people with no real reasoning. YOUR ALL MURDERS IN MY BOOK. EVER LAST ONE OF YOU. I'M THE ONLY INNOCENT ONE! *walks away covered in blood* :freak:

Despite the fact I couldn't possibly have been further from solving that, yes.

I got distracted for a bit, but will probably be more active this time. Any game without PMs would be a godsend, frankly.

Am playing still, just that the lack of a needed reason gives way to lack of a proper guess.

Otay.

You don't have to give your reasons because you are teh uber 1337 and you've caught more than one Serial Killer.

@ the others-

Was it really that much of a stumper? :embarassed: My apologies. I'll try to do some more recognizable faces.

Hello, just wanted to give an update on this:

Due to the upcoming Resident Evil: Dark Falls game I will be hosting, I am putting this game on hold until I have more free time. However, any of you could take up my mantle and host a Serial Killer game right here if you wish. Be sure to keep the clues nice and solvable, but difficult! :laugh4:

After Resident Evil and the Batman game, I'll probably have more time to do another edition of this.
