I'm from Mexican area, they're all about 5'2" so I always feel like a freakin giant.
Being around some other "gringos" would be something different.

I hit 6'4" around my junior year, 17.
Now I'm filling out finally, been skinny.

I was meant to be 6'2"; I feel ripped off.
When I left school(18) I was 183cm and in the following 2 years I grew another 2cm making me now 185cm, or 6'1 in the old scale. I don't think I've grown any taller the last year, but I haven't measured myself recently so I can't be sure. My cousin who is 196cm(6'5) grew until he was 22. Most men stop growing at about 17 or 18.

I met a guy who was 6'11" and had a sister that was 6'6". His brother was 7'3". It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced!

Most of my friends in high school were taller than me, so despite being of average height amongst my generation I felt quite short. All my older relatives were always telling me how tall I was, and then I'd go to school and half the kids would be towering above me, my only consolation was that I towered over the other half. :tongue:

up until 6th grade i was the tall one. then i pretty much stalled and didnt grow more than a half-inch until 8th grade. by then i was short.

My friends is 7'2" when he stands up straight, and his twelve year old sister is a very very scary 6'4". They are also skinny as a twig so its kinda weird to see them.

That said, I'm starting to get quite annoyed with people's comments "Wow, you're tall!". An old man in the supermarket the other day even stopped me to say that I was the tallest person he'd ever seen.
For those of you fed up with the "What's the weather up there like?", I heard of a story of a (tall) girl who kept being teased about her height by a much shorter guy at a party. After the umpteenth time, she tipped her glass over his head and said simply "It's raining".
So King Henry, I wonder, do we look like ants from up there? Do you need an oxygen mask and are your legs built earthquake-proof? :inquisitive:
Also how does the start of a space shuttle look from above? Do you sometimes take a star and give it to a girl? Are you friends with the man on the moon?
Ok, seriously, I guess most people only make these silly jokes because they're jealous or just for smalltalk. I consider myself average though I note a lot of smaller people ask me to get something for them that they can't reach, at work for example, let's just say you can make fun of everyone in some way and I find it easier with small people actually than with tall ones(as the lame questions I made up above should indicate).

6'2" exactly. Which meant I was a giant in NYC, but dead average in Wisconsin, where all of these darn Swedes and Germans settled.
Six two appears to be some sort of magic number, I've noticed. Quite a few men who were noticeably shorter than me have claimed to be six two, which kinda makes me wonder why they say it.

It's most likely due to the fact that the average age around here seems to be in the early 20's, comparing myself to older generations I'm quite tall, but when compared to my generation, I'm only just slightly above average height.

I've really got no idea. I do not know why I would need something that apparent on paper.
Knowing your height and such things is really helpful when buying clothes. That's a pro tip, that is.

6.2 feet or thereabouts I'm a freshly minted 18 year old I actually grew a bit over the last couple months. My height was never a surprise my dad was 6.1 before the navy and the g forces scrunched him a little (or something did now he's only 6'), my moms like 5.8 but her family is huge
6' 2". My physical attributes come from the Swedish side of the family.
