any way to go to Americas earlier?

I have edited the "world is round" event so the map goes west but whenever i try to send a naval unit over there it wont let me(even the latest boats). I never battled against the aztecs because it takes too long in a campaign. Is there any way I can mod some files so that I can send naval fleets over there at a earlier date?

I think you need the "compass" event too.:shrug:
