Speaking about longbows, I heard there's this kind of longbow that was used in really ancient war bak in China, where they had to use their FEET to yank on the wood and use the body and arm to pull the sinew string (each bow was used by 2 ppl - 1 for shooting and one for reloading) and its speed and strength is just terrible, plus it was used to shoot multiple arrows at once.

Now that is the best explanation I have seen yet why crossbows are not aimed at an angle. However if used in mass all you really need to do is get the angle right... so why wasn't it used like that?
