One thing that is so remarkable about EB are the very realistic and creative ancillaries that are uniquely doled out to FM's throughout the campaign. What new ancillaries would you like to see in EB II?

Humorous ones that are authentic.

Indeed we need more people being obsessed with cheeses:beam:

I think we could use more negative influences.... Like a "suspected spy" from the king if you know what i mean. A men that is ordered to follow you around by the king with the pretense he's helping you, but you kinda question his allegiance

More traits - less ancillaries!

Most of my family members pick up 8 while they are sill getting an education in EB1. I rarely get to see the more interesting ancillaries as a result.

True Lover?

"This woman is the love of this man's life, regardless of how many political marriages he takes to."
-1 to personal security, +1 to influence.

Thought of that as I was reading Holland's Rubicon while reading this post.
Caesar and Servilia came to mind.

I agree that the ancillaries should be harder to achieve. That way everybody doesn't have a clerk, philosopher, and armorer.

Any word from the EB II team on making it harder to max out ancillaries in EB II.

I disagree, people are going to pick up contacts as they move through their lives.
That is, unless they're a shut-in.

There is no disputing this. However those contacts need not take up valuable ancillary slots surely! Most MIITW mods seem better balanced in this regard. Perhaps because of the desire to assign titles (duke, count etc) to the conqueror of each territory. Personally I would prefer ancillaries to be more event led than education led. Either that or a more effective method of removing them introduced.

I would like to see something like the extended office mod for EBII. :egypt:
Another thing I never saw, was a roman loving orgys? But maybe it exists in EB 1?

Well, those contacts are going to be of real use in reality, so why not have them of real use in EB2?

I'd like to see the offices minimod included, althrough this can be modded in by yourself.

Is that one in the mini-mod pack?

I'm assuming that this is only for the Romani though?

Ancillaries are not contacts. They represent the team of advisers and aides that any politician/warlord worth his salt will assemble to aid him in his objectives. His retinue, in fact.

IIRC the team used some ancillarys (i.e. "Family Retainer", "Clerk") to get the "direction" of the traits belonging to the young FM's. As the engine of MTW II is similar to that of RTW we will see them also in EB II if the team finds no other way.

Personally, I would like to see more historical persons and ancillaries that you get if the governor builds buildings of the same sort. Also the ancillary of the "discoverer of bartix" is a MUST-have.

i would like to have an extra separator in the regions capital to form up my own regional council to help run the city even when there isn´t a governor there

i can imagine an extremly beautifull courtesan in the council creating unreast and people in the region making jokes about getting the jobs on the horizontal :laugh4: or make a council builded up of shieldbarers spear barriers veteran officers mercenary generals and the entire province goes crazy when there isn´t a batle being fought every 4-5 years

a council accomodating beteween 8 to 12 members would be extremly fun to "shape" the province and after 10 years they would disapear and we would need a new councilman to replace the old one

i would go as far as making family members retinue themselfs and assign them to units on the batlefield this could simulate generals going to rome faster and then returning the next campaign season (assingning family members to diplomats or particulary fast spies to move them faster) :sweatdrop:

I am afraid all those suggestions are impossible to implement.

Ancillaries represent a character's personal as well as his professional retainers. Hence the hunting dog, pet lion, cook, courtesan and drinking buddy ancillaries.

No for all kind of factions, Karthadastei was included in the last version, and it focused at first on the Pahlava, because the dude that made it is a Pahlava addict.
