Limited offline custom land player battles?

Hello.

When playing Rome total war, I remember it allowed you to add players as you wished i.e. 1vs2, but in
empire you have to set all vs fights as even on each side, and while it has the option to add AI player, it is in grey. Does anyone know of a hack to sort this out? And are they any non siege maps that allow you to enter building on multiplayer maps?

In order to have more AI players in a custom battle, you need to pick a bigger map. For example, there should be a 'Grassy flatlands I' for 1v1, a 'Grassy flatlands II' for 2v2, etc.

I imagine for a 1v2 you could just use a 2v2 map then give one of the armies 0 units or something.
