Hi,

before you tell me to search online for them note that I have and I know them.

Whenever I try to enter one that requires a name (settlement or character) I ALWAYS get err:character not found, with caps, without caps, with ", without ", with <>, without <>.

I've tried on dozens of settlements, and over thirty characters on the map and every single time I get the error.

Do I need a patch to get it to work? I have got only the minimum stuff installed to run EB.

I want to mess the map up, move random FM's all over and just watch the mayhem as Casse turn up around Bostra, Saka vs Carthage and so on.

Only the initials with capital letters (ergo: as you read it in the game) and I think on the english keyboard are 2 types of ", but I'm not sure

I have types exactly these entries (any character typed is exactly what I typed).

move_character Samus Yervanduni 277, 142
Move_Character Samus Yervanduni 277, 142
move_character 'Samus Yervanduni' 277, 142
Move_Character 'Samus Yervanduni' 277, 142
move_character <Samus Yervanduni> 277, 142
Move_Character <Samus Yervanduni> 277, 142
move_character "Samus Yervanduni" 277, 142
Move_Character "Samus Yervanduni" 277, 142
move_character <Samus Yervanduni> <Campania>
Move_Character <Samus Yervanduni> <Campania>
move_character "Samus Yervanduni" "Campania"
Move_Character "Samus Yervanduni" "Campania"
move_character 'Samus Yervanduni' 'Campania'
Move_Character 'Samus Yervanduni' 'Campania'
move_character Samus Yervanduni Campania
Move_Character Samus Yervanduni Campania

The character in question does exist and is spelt exactly as above, I am looking at him right now.

move_character "Samus ofarmenia" 277,142

move_character "Samus Yervanduni" 277, 142

That is the correct form for the command. The problem is that these commands use internal names, not display names. It is highly unlikely that this fellow's (internal) surname is "Yervanduni". You would need to check descr_names.txt in order to find valid surname(s) for characters belonging to his faction. It's also possible that his first name is not Samus. Again, you'd need to check descr_names.txt to find out for certain.

Couldn't be easy could it...

Yes, it could. But then you'd be back to RTW vanilla...

Naming in EB is largely through the traits, so a generic internal name is used for those factions.

Ahh, is that why things are so difficult.

Well, at least you are not trying to move romans. Those guys have horrificly complex naming.
