Upon conquering the bosporan cities with the Sauromatae, what would be the most historically "logical" thing to do? Choose migration - and then pastoralism - or choose "military occupation of local towns"? What usually happened when more "civilized" cities were conquered? I'm not interested in just raiding the settlements and then leave them. I want to keep them.

Maybe u must Choose Pastoralism... Bosophoran has mixed hidden resource, so you can't made them into a client kingdom.... So better let it rebel to KH and then capture back and repair the govt buildings (instead of the usual process destroying them), because that way, you could got acess to Thureopherantes Toxotai, a good armoured archers who you will sorely need if you want to get some edge against Saka and Pahlava.
Actually, Bosophoran cities did become Client kingdoms under Sarmatian influence.

Aha, I thought "Military occupation of local towns" was the same as client state. Kind of weird that client state is not avaliable then...
Anyway, thanks Cute Wolf. :)

? The rebel AI WON'T build anything :p
You must capture it, and then getting their taxes high, putting small garrison, and destroy anything else... aftar that, it will rebel to the faction Koinon Hellenon (not to the rebels)... and after that, just leave them on some turns and capture back that city after they spawn the Local Tyrant / Type 3 government maker (I clearly remember that KH control on rebellion will spawn a Type 3 govt, but giving them via force diplomacy rarely gives the result).
