Are you satisfied with the 1.5 patch?
Lately I have experienced some late game CTDs.
There are more bugs that I won't mention but there are some I would like to talk about.
Warpath has a serious bug because Native American Factions can't un-exempt taxes when a region is captured.
I am not sure if it is a bug or a feature, but the Naval Units seem a bit mixed up.
The 4th rats now have more fire power listed on the unit card than a 3rd rate.
I don't believe they do in combat, but I could be wrong.
Not that history has anything to do with the game but 4th rates were crap ships to start with. Up to this point they have never out gunned 3rd rates, is it a mistake or part of the naval balancing?
It is just my opinion but I think it could use a little work yet. Maybe that will come with the Multiplayer Campaign or NTW but some things do need fixed up a bit.
How about everyone else. Are you happy with the game as it is?

Meh.
1.5 is certainly a good start. But considering the time it took and that CA has made it known that no further major patches are to be expected, I'm not exactly ecstatic about it, no.
It would have been an acceptable place to start patching and polishing ETW. It's nowhere near a good place for ETW to end.

Dangit, I saw the thread title and voted 'no' in response to that, and then saw that the poll question meant I really wanted to vote 'Yes, it needs fixing'.

Yes, your poll Question and the Thread Title need to be more compatible.

Meh. I would be satisfied with it if the BAI gets fixed A LITTLE. The campaign is fine, I haven't had any CTDs, but the only reason I play mods right now is for the BAI fixes.

After a few months of not touching ETW with a barge pole, being as i was so fed up with the seemingly endless fail, I decided to give it another go over the last few days. This is the first time I've played since 1.5 (And also the first time I've played as Austria) and my first impressions are that it's pretty much the same as it was before.
I've noticed 2 improvements:
1. My rakes are actually successful sometimes now. Pre 1.5 They were, quite frankly, a waste of space, to the extent that I used to knock down every single brothel etc. that was on my turf. I may well keep one from now on. :2thumbsup:
2. Diplomacy AI seems to be rather better than before. It's not perfect, but generally, the countries who should, by logic, be allied or trading with me, are accepting the relevant proposals, sometimes even seeking them. Also, alliances and trade partnerships seem to actually be improving my relations with these nations, as they should be.
Prussia seems to have remained impervious to the diplomatic improvements, however, as I recently discovered when they paid me for a trade agreement. They then cancelled the trade agreement 2 turns later, and on the very next turn paid me again (3 times the original amount) for a new trade agreement. ~
I was also bemused by Prussia's decision, in about 1703, to build a half-decent fleet, load a half-stack army onto it, and sail it all the way around Europe to invade Algeria :inquisitive:

It's a development of the C/A tradition to have Northern European factions create large fleets they can barely afford and send them into the Mediteranian where they have no assets other than that fleet and no way to support nor exploit anything they might do there to do bugger all until destroyed for no gain by a stronger fleet from a faction of that region .
The C/A are traditionalists .
Yes it needs fixing but, for me, not due to some of the more indepth bugs...mainly due to clearly unpolished finish and a sudden increase in computer requirements to run between the last patch and 1.5.
Warpath icons and inposition of campaign graphics....and I don't even have Warpath INSTALLED! (or purchased for that matter).
General Balancing - if you have it at Normal/Normal, the battles are phish easy but Diplomacy is acceptable, however the campaign is also too easy so simple levelling of Ai is in order.

I said yes.
Braden and other including myself have noticed a performance decrease.
They need one more in my opinion.
One thorough code review and fine tuning and a general clean up of various issues.
Then I'd be happy.

Yes, there definitely are some performance glitches that were in the game before 1.2 but were fixed either with 1.2 or 1.3. For example, seemingly random strat. map freezes (when clicking on a fleet or a unit) were present before 1.2, but had been fixed post 1.2. Now, the glitch is back. I suspect, it has something to do with the multi-core optimization and/or usage of greater than 1GB RAM. Stuff that was fixed before 1.5 was "un-fixed" with the latest two patches.

Nope, not happy, the CAI has improved, not as it should be, but certainly improved, the BAI and SAI however leave alot to be desired :wall:

There was a big performance decrease after the quick fix.
There are also some crashes from fleets and even agents that have reappeared.
It will be interesting to see what gets fixed in the Multiplayer beta and in NTW, which I am guessing my have patches for ETW.
I decided to re-visit my Russian campaign today after about 4 months of not bothering with this game due to the suicidal campaign AI. So, I downloaded the newest update and loaded my campaign. One turn in the declarations of war started coming in from a bunch of countries who had absolutely no chance of victory. I just quit the game.
