Hey I had a question,

How do you use the Battlemap Editor to create a Historical Battle WITHIN the modification you made?

I tried adding the -enable_editor line to the target of my Mod shortcut, but as soon as I choose a location and try to move on, the editor crashes to desktop.

Any idea's?

the editor uses the map that's in the 'base' folder - you need to make sure you have a valid map in there..... you can have campaigns working that contain all the relevant map info at campaign level, and work fine, whilst not necessarily having a valid map in the base folder (base folder level will look up the default text file for whatever game you're using, so either imperial... or barbarian... or alexander..)

Okay so what I've found out, is that all the mapping files in the base folder(image files like .tga .jpg etc) are changed to the modifications layout of the campaign map. But not the map_FE.tga file, which is the map I get when I open the Battle Editor.

Now the question is, does that .tga file really matter, I DO have all the mapping files required.
It just gives a CTD, this CTD might have other reasons then a wrong .tga file, what do you think Makanyane?

P.S. I do have the -show_err command enabled all the time.

P.P.S the campaign itself of the modification works (for the first 8 turns or so, but the beginning loads)

EDIT: Hey good news Makanyane, I moved the map.rwm file and now the battle editor works :)
You also helped with that ( I read your tut)

Glad you got it fixed

the map_fe only matters from practical point of view - if you're trying to select a particular spot on map you really need it to be same shape as your map, so you know where you are....
