Can we give certain types of sword infantry this ability namely legionnaires? Mechanics seem quite similar since they seeded parts of the battlefield with these before the fighting began to create funnels for mounted units.

I don't want it unless it takes a reasonable amount of prep time to deploy.

And I don't know how it works in M2TW, but I don't want my cavalry dying when walking on to it like in ETW unless they had been charging too fast, in which case only two or three would dye while the rest would stop and/or steer away.

It'd be done before battle but you shouldn't have problems as long as you walk. MIITW didn't really have as much of a problem with walking cav deaths.

Exactly stakes are much older than caltrops. Why do you want them?:book:

Because one is usually part of a fixed defensive position and the other is a specific weapon deployed on demand before battle.
