That's a rather trivial complaint IMHO and one that in no way will be corrected by CA. If it bothers you that much, I'm sure you can learn how to mod them.

Darker places make things darker.

Class Dismissed.

That's right, but...

I'm sure you can learn how to mod them.

This is King Louise Assurbanipal. As soon as he gets his hands on NTW, he'll be makin' all sorts of complete and overhaul mods for breakfast.

My apologies if I didn't know a esteemed member of the modding comunity. I have nothing but respect for them (although I still don't see a good reason to start this thread).

Class Dismissed.

Fixed.

But yeah, the point stands.

Also, the other point stands. Y'know, the one about this not being a high-priority issue. There's a lot of things about this game CA could do with putting right (AI, Map, AI, unit variation, AI, unlimited ammo, AI, shameless marketing ploys and did I mention AI?). Uniforms being slightly off colour is a long way down the list.

FFS FIX THE DAMN A.I.!!!! :wall:

Also: kittens.

That is all.

The one thing that always looks amiss to me in Empire is the fact that none of the artillery is painted as it was in actual use. I can live with the cannons used by the various factions being homogeneous in design, but the natural wood and pewter colored metal parts make them just look unfinished. By the 18th century and particularily during the Napoleonic period almost all armies painted the wood and metal parts of their artillery to help preserve the pieces in the field.

All Iron work was usually painted black and the wood work was painted in fairly standard colors for each country. Of course bronze barrels were unpainted, but if the barrels were iron they were also painted black.

For the major countries the woodwork was painted---

Olive green for France
Apple Green for Russia
Mid-blue for Prussia
Grayish blue for England
Ochre for Austria
Grey for Italy
and so on

In fact the only country that used oil stained natural wood was Wurttemberg.

All they would have to do is approximate the right colors and I would be happy, but it is probably too
much to ask for.
