View Full Version : Horde problem with XL3/Tyberius 3.0

I've not been playing for a long time and was looking for some MTW action. So I looked in my MTW-VI modfolder and found XL3/Tyberius 3.0.

After playing many turns I found out that I could not do real-time battle with army stack after I recruited a mercenary Korean Guardsman (Horde) in it. Later when Golden Horde came in play I also could not do real-time battle (only automatic ) against the Horde.

Is this known problem to anyone and is/was there a fix?

Elaborate please William, what happens when you attempt to fight the Horde or with Korean units on the battle map?

I have never heard of this before...

CTD at the moment when you choose "fight battle on the map".
If I reload with the save of the battle: CTD again.
Only solution is automatic resolve of battle.

I do not know if it had to do with Korean Guard. It happened the first time after I recruited one unit mercenary Korean Guards. CTD after I tried to fight a battle on the map with the army with the guard unit in it. I deleted the unit and it was fine.
Later when Horde attacked me I had CTD again when I tried to fight battle on the map.

It's simple: if nobody else has the problem with Tyberius XL3/Tyberius 3.0 then it is my installation.

I do not know if anybody uses Tyb 3.0. I had it on my computer from long time ego.

Does this happen only in a campaign or also in a custom battle?

(Come now, Nagamasa, anyone, how can this fellow be helped?!)

I don't know I never play custom. I'll have to try, but not know. I just came home from work 5:11 am and have to go sleep.
I'll let you know later.

Hi

Not a solution, I'm afraid, merely an observation and a suggestion.

I've played a lot of XL3 + the most recent version of Tyberius' add-on (at least six campaigns, all from Early) and I have not encountered the problem you are describing.

The only similar-ish problem was with a Hungarian crusade marker, which I resolved by going back to a year prior to its appearance and editing out the Hungarians' ability to create crusades.

My suggestion is you do a complete uninstall and then reinstall everything. OK, that's best part of an afternoon's work so make it coincide with a sports event or film or some similar you want to watch on the telly.

Hope that helps

The hungarian crusade marker-incident happened to me as well once with the Tyberius add-on. Playing as the turks it was a big turn-off. Had no thougts on remodding the hungarians so I quit, for next campaign I will. How did you do that?

Hopefully I am safe from these problems with 2.2 ......

Besides, Hungary is always crushed very swiftly in my campaigns!

Thank you for your input here.

Hi Faremisch

If I remember correctly (and I'm no modder), I identified a save from a few years earlier - so prior to the Hungarian Chapter House being built - and I edited (within Gnome) MTW_XL_EARLY_BUILD_PROD13.TXT so that FN_HUNGARIAN was not included within the set of factions eligible to build the Chapter House.

The campaign's been pretty stable despite my surgery.

NB You should always make a copy of any file you're intending to edit.

Hope that helps.

Possibly a corrupted save game or missing battlemap images or actions files.

Not being an XL player, can someone perhaps enlighten me as to the nature/symptoms of this Hungarian crusade bug?

As i remember it the Hungarian crusade marker was created in Croatia and on the first time it moved the game crashed. I only suspected the Hungarian marker but couldn“t know. When victorgb stated he had problems with the marker as well I figured I was right.
