Hello!
I am very interested in Celtic history, culture and so on. I like Celtic factions, and I hope you too.
So I would like to gather all Celtic fans.
I invite all of you, who keen on Celts to the Celtai fans https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/group.php?groupid=115 group. I think these thread is the only thing how we can consolidate.
I think it is a shame, that Celts have not got their fun club yet. But they deserve it...

Pretty image. But it is anachronistic. Umbones of the 1st century BC, helmets of the 1st century BC and 3rd century BC, suspensions of scabbards of the 3rd century BC, etc.
A summary of a work of Andre Rapin:
http://www.gallicobelgae.org/la_tene_chronology.htm
I think you will adore that. That comes from a French comic book (http://www.lecasquedagris.com) drawn in collaboration with several French historians and a specialist in the re-enactment.

It's a battle between Senones and Bellovaci during the end of the third century BC.
Edit: others pictures of Le Casque d'Agris here:

I found the image on the Net. Just to depict the idea.
And about history accuracy - that old items he got from his Grandfather, and that Grandfather from his Grandfather...
Archaeology contradicts this idea. Most of the equipment is buried/incinerated with the deceased or is offered to the gods in sanctuaries. If you speak French I can provide you documents on the armament and the archaeological excavations.

Yes i would like to have that comic, im a huge fan of comics, cartoons. Anyway, i join in, i like the celts very much.
Anyone has something about the lusos? or the Gaeleci, or the celtiberians? I know they werent completly celts, but like the lusotans, had a manny influences naturaly. One funny thing is they considerer the facial hair, beard, mustaches, and hair, to be sacred :) so they wouldnt wash it or cut it. only if they had to i belive...lol
behold the celtic empire

The yelow region today austria, is probably the origins of the celtic culture.
I remember reading in a book, dont remember what book, but it was about the galic wars, of ceaser, and his saying that probably at one time the celts were an empire, who shared a comom currency, and language. Of course the extends of this is debatable, but no one can deny that this happen at some point.

You might have been reading about Ambikatos and the Biturigis in the 5th century B.C. Some of the classical authors mention his empire encompassing so many Celtic tribes its not funny, such as the Aedui and Arverni. Hes also stated as being behind the migrations to southern Germany and Northern Italy as well. Perhaps we'll never know for sure how large this empire was, but looking at the tribes he held sway over is impressive even if it is classical embellishment and hype - which I personally do not think it was.

OOOOooOOOOOO looks good... Like the picture in OP by the way. New desktop image!
under the subject of celtic fanaticism, If any of you celtophiles are interested, I, Celtic Viking, and cultured drizzt fan are hosting a celtic throneroom game for EB! It hasn't started yet but im trying to boost awareness of it, and interest. Check it out in the WotB subforum in the throne room. Its going to be starting around sometime after christmas. Played from the averni faction as a confederacy, each player belongs to a tribe within the confederacy and each tribe makes thier own keep, builds their own armies and the like. Influential, skilled, and plain lucky players will be able to ceceed and start their own independant kingdoms as well! lots of infighting and the like will occur, it will be action oriented, to keep players involved not just at a forum level but on a ingame level as well. Check it out!
