The story of the third crusade in 1189 ad led by englands richard the lionheart against the charismatic arab leader saladin using expert analysis and reconstructions. The epic medieval military campaign appears to have been shaped by the personalities of the 2 men. Running time 1 hour 30 minutes might be interesting

Yep i thought it was pretty good http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Interesting to find out more about both men.
Do saladin and richard make appearences in the campaign game?
The English usually get a royal prince called Richard, who may be a little more martial than average but how good he is seems largely determined by the bloodline rather than preset.
I've heard the Egyptians get an impressive general Saladdin (not sure of the spelling).
Anyone think Saladdin came off rather better in that documentary? Richard seemed rash, petulant and brutal. Saladdin seemed wily, far-sighted and genuinely chivalrous (although no soft touch!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. My seven year old started watching it, attracted to Richard (the "Lionheart" moniker is an appealing one to a young boy) but now is enthusing about Saladdin.

Well, by most historicall acounts, Salladin probably WAS the more chivalrous. The Mediteranean civilisations were certainly the more advanced (having studied the history of medicine and surgery, trust me you would have wanted to live in Turkey rather than England if you had a toothache)and the more civilised. The crusaders were seen as barbarians with hardly any culture or manners. to be honest the crusaders remind me of English football hooligans now........ http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
