The low roll of thunder echoed through the walls of the mansion, and the flash of lightning streaked by, temporary illuminating the dark horizon, permeated by dark stormy clouds, unleashing a torrential downpour onto the earth below. A lone grayish brown structure of stone and wood stood upon a ridge in the valley, overlooking the valley below like an omninous sentinel. Deep within the mansion, a wiry old man sat within a small laboratory, eyeing the camera connected to the foyer, trained on his victims. A manic grin formed across his features, and he rubbed his hands in glee. This new batch of specimens looked very promising, yes, very promising indeed. The virus he had injected into their backs had no visible effects thus far. They wouldn't know a thing, and by the time they woke up, the discomfort would have been long past, and it would be as if they had not been invaded at all, they would know it only when it was too late.

At that thought, he brightened up a little, finally regarding his assistant. "Excellent... the work is going as planned."

His assistant could only smile to himself, years of unethical work had finally paid off, and the coming carnage they reaped would be terrible.

It was finally time, for humanity to pay for its past transgressions...

Day 1 Write Up

The group of kidnapped people eventually decided on a vote. With nobody evidently carrying weapons, surely the majority could easily overwhelm the accused suspect. Many votes were tossed around, for a time it looked as if 5 people would be facing the noose, until the one known as Sprig set off a chain reaction, and a man called A1_Unit groaned and grumbled about how he would be vindicated in the end.

Eventually, the name of the accused was brought forth, and to the surprise of many, Zain was hauled forth.

Vanessa Ayers protested wildly, claiming how she did not even have the most votes, but a recheck was done and a confused look was on her face as she was dragged to the kitchen, seemingly the chosen one.

https://img130.imageshack.us/img130/4776/picture112.jpg

The angry group of people swarmed out of the foyer, and grabbed various sharp implements.

Eventually, all that was left of her was a grizzly mess on the floor, and the remaining 6 people stared at each other, hoping it was all over.

Alas, it was not to be...

one theory is he did not unvote properly. but in that case i would have expected the host to keep his first vote as the valid vote.

We now know that mafia have a extra vote or vote changing ability. if it the latter then maybe Sprig's vote was the one changed to random.org.

either way it is not good that Zain got lynched and A1 got saved.

These are all of Sprig's post from the first round.

His last vote was for A1_unit, that was his final vote.

Now why was he red?

Possibly his vote was nullified by the mafia, because otherwise A1_unit would've been the lynch by one vote, instead there was a tie with two votes...

Sprig

Why was my vote red? Perhaps I didn't vote properly, I only said 'unvote;' instead of 'Unvote: CCRunner'

Either way, it still seems somone can place another vote or there is an extra vote randomly added each round.

I do want to know what chain reaction I sent off though... I voted for someone already voted? but then so did spl1t...

Now, Atheotes is being suspicious because of his unreasonable suspicion of me because a really simple thing (I think he is trying to get everyone lynched because he is mafia - I happened to be a good target today but there is no saying who he will go after next). And isn't it odd that the Mafia usually pretends to be the town's best friend and givers them "suspects", but they are really innocent townies. Also, this isn't the first time I've been a targeted and used as a scapegoat for the Mafia's ambitions. You need to watch your backs before you get tricked even further.

No it was not, I'm not that terribly particular on the format, as long as it is clear.

In a mini mafia like this, it isn't terribly tedious to go back and check the original vote, so I won't be picky about this and enforce it as it isn't as confusing as a larger mafia game.

So here is my theory: Sprig's vote was voided - either his role doesn't have a vote or the mafia can pick one person to have their vote nullified. this resulted in a tie and random.org decided who died. :juggle2:

This makes things interesting. With only 6 of us it will be easy for the bad guy to swing the vote where he chooses

So that means we innocents need to control the lynch by voting over whelming against one person,

But we are not going to get much information going that way…

Day 2 Write up

They were coming for him, he knew it. Even many hours before the deadline his fate had been sealed by the voters. Anxiety clouded his rationality and eventually, he decided to run out of the foyer and hide in another room.

A1_Unit was deeply troubled by the demeanor of his fellow townies. They cast ballots to kill people like tossing a piece of refuse onto the ground. They had been overwhelmingly convinced of his guilt. It was all a conspiracy...lies... they just wanted his comfortable home and the sweet fringe benefits that came with his job. It must be... for why else would they want him gone? Who would manage the affairs of the village now?

He couldn't stand it anymore, and he sped out of the room.

Arriving at the Billiards Room, he felt safe, at least for now.

He crawled up in a little dark corner of the room, and he could hear the voices of the angry mob.

"Spread out and find him, he must be the madman who brought us here, he must not escape" A man barked out orders.

Martin Willford had never felt more scared in his life, he was used to being in a position of authority and power, but now, reduced to a man cowering for his life. He could hear doors being thrown open, but thankfully, every time it was not the Billiards Room door, but such a chase could never last forever.

https://img109.imageshack.us/img109/3381/maproom1928billiards.jpg

At last, they burst into the room, some wielding chairs as clubs, some still utilizing the blood encrusted knives they had chopped Vanessa up with.

"There he is, get him!" A voice sounded, as Martin desperately tried to hide.

As the mob surrounded him, the mayor got down on his knees and begged for his life and pleaded for mercy, but they would not hear him.

"We do not grant mercy to those who kidnap us and ruin our livelihood." A gruff voice sounded, shattering his last hopes.

As they closed in and proceeded to beat him up, A1's last thought was a final hope that his death would allow the others to finally realize how cruelly wrong they were.

Eventually, a pile of blood and an unrecognizable body stained the lush carpet, and the remaining five people stood there, some disappointed that they had to resort to such barbaric means, some reveling in their glee. It was not over, just yet.

How convenient for you, yet I had already previously highlighted this and ask why it was I that had set of a chain reaction. Also with no night phase the bad guy has to have an advantage. His is vote switching or at least annulling. There was no need for him to use his ability yesterday when the majority of votes are against an innocent.

My reasoning against CCRunner is simple. At this stage there are no better clues this round that last round except for the fact there is 1 less person. Not knowing where to vote, my vote gets place back at my original default place which unluckily for him is CCRunner.
As for this business about knocking people out and injecting sedatives, this is not anywhere near my expertise. Ask me to make your favourite cocktail or pull you a pint then no problem. Anything about drugs, I don’t want to know about.

I certainly am curious as to how each of you came here. Who ever brought us here has to be rather strong. I mean I was just doing my job and they knocked me out with one punch, injected me with some stuff and I woke up here. Unless CRunner has anything meaningful to add my vote stays where it is.

Not necessary. In 7 player game, there could be 2 mafia without the knowledge of each other. If the bad guys are those who brought us here, I don't see how they could have vote manipulation ability story wise. Mayor having that ability makes much more sense.

Something, rather oddly you seem to distance yourself from.IIRC, your theory about the mafia ability was that they get an extra vote, something that wouldn't explain the random.org aspect, nor why your name was red. And I'm not sure how saying "lolz, I'm a bartender, don't lynch me" makes you innocent.

Also, sprig, is it just me, or is it really weird how we're deadset against each other this game and then cooperating in the game you're hosting? :clown:

Day 3 Write up

Irony... how it pains.

Compassion, peace, love, happiness, all lies.

Thirty years ago, you had it all, a family, a lover, and a friend. Five years later, that all disappeared in the blink of an eye.

You set your mind to research, it calmed you and soothed you, until the day the community accused you of unethical practices, and promptly expelled you without further investigation, confiscating your work.

It was an outrage, and you plotted revenge secretly.

Capitalizing on your father's recent demise, you bought a mansion, and had your long lasting childhood friend assist you, you shared the same goals, to teach the rest of humanity a lesson they would never forget.

You labored, day and night, after all, revenge had no expense. Revenge was truly a dish served cold, two decades later, you stood stone faced over the latest batch of failures. You had planned to use the animals to infect the unwary humans, but they had all died.

A thought struck you, and you began to work, work for the greater good of man, yes, with you as the catalyst, humanity would evolve into something more, though at your will and bidding, truly it was for the greater good, achieving your revenge, while advancing those poor fool's genetics.

https://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2355/conservatory.jpg

And now, here you were, barricading yourself in the Conservatory, admiring the greenery you had cultivated with genetics. You walked over to a crossbreed between a flower and a fern, and sniffed at its aroma, stepping back hastily immediately after, as the mandibles of the plant closed together against thin air. Sure, you had macabre tastes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The incessant pounding at the door grew louder, and more hard hitting. You knew the door would only last so long.

Taking up a pen and a piece of paper, you wrote down the steps for your life's greatest work, even if the mansion fell, words would somehow endure.

CCRunner breathed in the crisp air in the conservatory, and finally, the door gave, flying open, its hinges broken.

They closed toward him with knives and chairs, ready to enact vigilante justice upon the man whose nefarious schemes had led them here.

Oh my, it truly was a beautiful sunny day.

Irony, sweet, bitter irony.

Zain Arduin breathed his last upon a wooden chair in the conservatory, eyes blankly staring upwards facing the sun.

Day 4 Write Up

Danielle Ohara had sat by the fireplace in the lounge the whole day. Amidst the frantic accusations and killings, she alone, had sat there, looking into the flames.

She basked in its warmth, and its glow shone upon her, giving her a sense of peace that she'd not known since that cold and frigid night. It gave her time to think, time to relax, time to mull on what would happen when this was all over.

https://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6941/flamek.jpg

Did her family miss her? Were the authorities out conducting a search? She highly doubted it, after all, that fool mayor had been one of those kidnapped too. More likely, they had just disappeared without a trace.

She wiped a tear forming away at her eyes, that she'd been forgotten just like that, a passing breeze. Blinking the tears away, she slouched a little, and stared at the fire, peace and tranquility in her mind, calming her down.

A general store owner, she had spent her days selling every basic necessity in the town and more, clothing, tools, groceries, furniture, decoration. She was a glib woman, able to sell many things to tourists and visitors for a high price. All that money went into her children, she wanted to give them a comfortable life, she wanted them to be happy, she wanted them to temporarily forget that they did not have a fathe-

No, she would not go there, his fate was not in her hands, it was his time, so be it.

It was a calm and serene scene in the lounge, and a woman deep in her thoughts sitting on a chair, looking into the flickering flames as they weaved and wove about the fireplace, but never extending out of its territory.

Loud trampling and hollering filled the air, but Atheotes was oblivious to it, those poor fools were probably out trying to kill someone again, she mused. The fire entranced her in its gaze, and she took to staring blankly at it again, her mind cleared of all other pains. She was utterly oblivious to the door of the lounge being kicked from its hinges, and men walking in with chairs and knives.

She embraced death in its fullness, a reunion with her husband at long last, but her only regret was that her children would now grow up without their parents. She hoped that someone in the village would look after them, they were good children, yes, Sam and Kim were good, good, children.

Tears welled in her eyes, as her life was ended.

As the men looked at her corpse, some of them looked glum and sad.

"What have we done?"

Final Write up

Jeremy Irving was never one for sitting down and taking things lightly. He was one of the most vehement people in the discussion, tossing votes wildly before deciding again.

The lumberjack and carpenter was a burly and grizzled man, biceps as thick as a block of wood, and as hard as one too, he would not go down easily.

Hefting a large antique axe he found hanging in the dining room whilst exploring, he kicked over a table and stood on top of it, roaring his challenge to the other two, if they dared.

Jan Krauser and Willie were hardly scared, they were used to their fair share of rowdy and violent behavior. Despite that, they hurriedly armed themselves with the items they had found, a machete and a lawnmower blade.

With that, they rushed at him, and clashed in a duel of steel and iron will.

https://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7893/axe14h.jpg

Jeremy was evidently a master of the axe, he wielded it with a proficiency born of many hard years of swinging.

They came at him together, hoping that their lighter weapons would prove the edge against the medieval battle axe, unwieldy large weapon it was, but they were wrong. Jeremy kept up the momentum in a flash of silver, the axe's longer reach forcing the two men back. They darted in and wove, but any strike was met with the wooden handle of the weapon, rattling their shoulders as the weapons collided.

The men fought for many minutes already, but neither side was willing to concede.

Finally, Jan tried to dart in with his machete, but Jeremy was already mid swing, and it took only a bit of readjustment on Jeremy's part to slam the axe's head into the machete. The sheer force of the blow batted away the machete and it fell to the floor, clanging, and skidded halfway across the room. Jan was knocked sprawling onto the floor, clutching his broken wrist, as Jeremy towered over him, axe raised for the killer blow, ready to end his life.

It occurred in the blink of an eye, Willie had disappeared during those crucial moments, and now was at Jeremy's back. Focused the hapless target beneath him, he did not see Willie creeping towards his back. In a sudden flurry of motion, Willie jumped onto Jeremy's back, stabbing wildly and repeatedly. Jeremy's body convulsed wildly and his hands lost their grip on the axe, which dropped to the floor, shattering some of the marble under.

As the blood seeped out of Jeremy's body, his thoughts were on how the madmen had won, how it was all over, the wounds were unbearable, but he would die with dignity, he would not whimper in pain, he would not curse them, he would die silently, and nobly, his energy spent. Drawing in his last breath, his last thought was for his unfinished masterpiece, gathering dust in his workshop. It saddened him greatly.

Willie walked over, and heaved Jan up, both stood over Jeremy's corpse, the pool of blood steadily becoming larger.

"Thanks, I would have died if not for you." said Jan, gratitude evident in his voice.

"It was not a problem, that fat oaf didn't see it coming!" Willie replied, a grin on his features.

With that, they stood over the body, and were filled with conflicting emotions.

One, with hope that this was all over, another, a manic gleam in his eyes...

--------------------------------------

Five Hours Earlier

Willie walked around in the gloomy mansion, his footsteps echoing through the corridor. His master was dead, a minor error on his part, his work would not live on, but this group of people would die.

It was not all done for, perhaps his master's notes in the lab would prove sufficient to carry on his work, after all, he was his assistant for over two decades. He had stuck with him where his lover, his friends, and his mentors had not, he knew almost everything.

The wind blew gently, and a breeze stroked his face, tickling it ever so slightly. He stood still for a moment, letting the cool breeze blow across his body.

He walked into the conservatory, the site of his master's death. The plants were beautiful, despite being genetically modified with some... traits.

A piece of paper floated atop the wind, weaving through the air, Willie extended his arm, and caught the torn parchment. It was beyond his wildest dreams.

Detailed in the paper, was the every step needed to complete the process of infection, along with every other piece of his master's work, the passwords to the files and all the experiments they had done, his legacy would endure, but the world would know HIS name.

He laughed maniacally and with a longer stride, he proceeded quickly to the laboratory.

He combined the allotted mixtures and plant extracts, and transferred it to a syringe, he referred quickly to his master's note.

Finally, inject into hole in back, process should be painfully slow.

Even in near death, his master still hadn't lost his sadistic sense of humor, and he chuckled at the line.

Heading quickly back to the foyer, he joined the other two, and blended in, letting them do all the talking, only interjecting here and there.

Oh... it would be soon alright, the tantalizing taste of victory was at hand, all was going well...

--------------------------------------

Ten minutes after the death of Jeremy Irving

"So... what are you going to do when you get back home?" asked the bartender Jan Krauser, still clutching his broken wrists. "Got any one who missed you?"

The response was chilling to the bone, and certainly not what he expected.

"Home...? This IS my home, and it will soon be yours..." The dark tone was not lost on Jan, evident by the shocked expression on his face.

"W-What? What do you mean? Y-Your one of the madmen aren't you, Your the one who kidnapped me!" A shocked realization painted across his face.

Alas, it was too late, and an evil grin streaked across Willie's face as he leaped across and pinned Jan to the floor, beating him into submission.

"Yes... I am one of those 'madmen', and it is time for society to pay, and you will be the catalyst to my revenge!" With that, Beefy turned Sprig over, and rammed the syringe in his back, and wasted no time pumping the liquid into the already present hole.

Sprig screamed in agony, he could feel his muscles expanding, his skin tearing, and body contorting and his back opening up to make way for some things that he shuddered to think of.

The process was excruciatingly slow, and painful, he continued screaming, no longer caring about the dignity of it all, the pain had robbed his mind and overridden all else.

Suddenly, it stops, is it over? Has the peace of death come upon you? Sadly, no.

A trickling sensation arises in what you think are your feet, its cold, numbing, and spreads until it reaches your head. You no longer possess control of yourself, and a loud buzzing fills your head, then, it began anew.

You writhed and spasmed as the pain overtook you once more, you want to cry and weep, but you can't do anything but feel the pain. Eventually, you can no longer scream, but it is finally over.

Your eyes open, blood shot, and the world is red to you, you lust evermore for the tangy taste of the blood, the rich aroma of it wafts by your nostrils, and you spot a corpse lying on a table not far from you.

You want to consume it now, but the buzzing in your head turns to words.

Stop, obey me now.

The voice compels you to drop to your knee, and face your master.

Beefy ordered his minion with an evil smile.

There will be more of that, much more. The village beneath our mansion will prove to be an excellent spawning grounds for you, go forth, and kill them all until you sate your hunger.

Your heightened senses are tempted by the corpse just lying there peacefully, but you no longer have any free will. You live to serve the master now, and you will do so until you die serving. You no longer have free will to do what you want, but it is not a thought that pains you, you have a purpose now...

You are now, a parasite! :clown:

https://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1186/ss74hires.jpg

Go forth and slay them all!

Roles:

Mafia

CCRunner, Zain Arduin

Hi CCRunner, thanks for playing

Your role is, Zain Arduin (Mafia)

Twenty-five years ago, you were the proud owner of a newly constructed mansion, built upon the inherited wealth of your recently deceased father. Yet, behind that emotion, you were a sinister man, a recluse with no social life. You kept to yourself, and the mansion was just a convenient isolated place to conduct your research, and you were all alone, except for your assistant.

Twenty years you labored, testing numerous species for their reaction to your Parasite Strain, and nothing survived, rats, cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, everything didn't work. The luckier ones died straight away, the less fortunate specimens writhed and fell to the floor of the cage, thrashing and spasming until they died. Finally, a thought struck you as you stood incensed over the most recent failed experiment, why not use humans? Humans were plentiful in the village of Woodshire nearby, yes, that would be an excellent option. So you made your assistant sneak into the village in a disguise, and drugged five healthy looking people, and trussed them up into the back of your truck, before heading back and laying them upon the floor of your foyer, and injecting the virus through their backs. It went smoothly, and now with a camera in the foyer, you observe their every move as they lay comatose, but enough posturing, they all look like individuals in the pink of health and should survive the transformation process, and you would now test their mental deduction abilities. Yes, you will see which is the most promising individual of them all...

Objectives: Survive, your research must not go unfinished, you must unleash your revenge upon the world that scorned you. Your assistant is somewhere within this group of people, like you, he has disguised himself to observe the experiment first hand. His death may be unavoidable, but in the end, it is still you who will carry the human civilization to its inevitable doom.

[Note, doesn't mean that if you die, you both lose]

Good Luck!

Interesting Note: Your role name was actually a request from Zain, after I asked permission to use his doctor character from The Mansion.

Beefy187, Little Willie

Hi Beefy, thanks for playing

Your role is, Little Willie (Mafia)

It was many winters ago, when two young men stood tall and stoic around a fireplace, swearing vengeance on those in the scientific community who had scorned them, pledging to prove them wrong. The fools, what did they know? The research you both were doing was invaluable to the evolution of mankind, how could they not see that? Instead, they had expelled the both of you and removed all ties to themselves.

Many years down the road, you have assisted your friend, the good doctor, in his creation of the newest virus strain, one that will sweep across the land, engulfing those who had dared stand in your path. Oh yes, they would certainly pay. Now, you kidnapped 5 individuals from their homes in the village of Woodshire down the valley, and injected them with the virus in their backs.

The good doctor has no doubts that these individuals will prove to be powerful specimens, but he wants to cultivate their mind, spring the seeds of corruption into it. He wanted cunning, cruel individuals, a killer's instinct honed sharp, not mindless brutes.

Objectives: You both are disguised within the small group of people. Your own life is irrelevant, you are the instrument that will do the bidding, but he is the catalyst of it all. Only the good doctor can bring them all to enlightenment...

[Note, doesn't mean that if he dies, you both lose]

Good luck!

Interesting Note: Your role name was a request from Zain after I asked for permission to borrow the doctor persona from The Mansion. Although technically, he asked for William Wallace, I swapped it around a little to reflect the backstory of the assistant.

Town

Atheotes, Danielle Ohara

Hi Atheotes, thanks for playing

Your role is, Danielle Ohara, (Town)

The owner of the town's general shop, you sell everything, from clothing, to food items, furniture and simple tools. The carpenter may be a master craftsman, but he sure is no salesman. You're a glib and silver-tongued woman, and your favorite past time is selling the mayor fine items, particularly furniture, for prices higher than they were worth, and splitting the extra profits with the carpenter.

One cold and frigid night, you were just about to close the shop and head back home, then a man walked in. You shivered, whether from the cold night air entering through the open doorway, or from how creepy the man looked. His eyes were withdrawn, and his skin was deathly pale, and then he glared at you, sending shivers up your spine. Taking a few steps forward, he walked past you, seemingly attempting to browse some wares to purchase. Not daring to look behind for fear of freezing up again, you walked slowly to the counter.

The wooden boards suddenly creaked under the weight of sudden and swift movement, and you turned around to investigate, but it was too late. The man pinned you down and injected a syringe into your upper arm, and the last thing you felt before falling unconscious, was that you were being dragged off out of the door...

Awakening within a mansion, you take in the sights rapidly. Mahogany furniture, glass chandeliers, marble flooring, and six other people?? What mad man had brought you all to this place? Determined to find out, ignoring the mild discomfort as you rose, you stand upright, massaging your back slightly as a wave of discomfort swept through you. Eyes sweeping over to the other six, you knew that at least one of them, was responsible for this travesty.

Objectives: Get out of this mansion, survival is preferred, but the only way to do that would be to remove the madmen who have brought you here.

Good luck!

Sprig, Jan Krauser

Hi Sprig, thanks for playing

Your role is, Jan Krauser, (Town)

The bartender of this obscure little village, you've been here all your life. Managing the village's little pub, a task which has ran through your family for generations innumerable. One fine night, you were cleaning up after you'd finally chased those drunkards to head back home, just as you were about to close the establishment, a stranger walked in. This was surprising, for the village of Woodshire doesn't see many strangers, and you knew all the faces of the citizens by heart. Still, you didn't worry over it much, business was business and there was coin to be made. As he walked to the counter, you started nonchalantly.

"What can I get for you, my good man?"

Your only response was a fist that beat the living daylights out of you. Stunned, you fell backwards onto the wooden planks and could only watch in error as the stranger took out a syringe and started to inject whatever was within those swirling depths into your arm. You started to feel drowsy, and your eyes shut as darkness took you...

Awakening within a mansion, you take in the sights rapidly. Mahogany furniture, glass chandeliers, marble flooring, and six other people?? What mad man had brought you all to this place? Determined to find out, ignoring the mild discomfort as you rose, you stand up tall and proud. Eyes sweeping over to the other six, you knew that at least one of them, was responsible for this travesty.

Objectives: Get out of this mansion, survival is preferred, but the only way to do that would be to remove the madmen who have brought you here.

Good luck!

Splitpersonality, Jeremy Irving

Hi Split, thanks for playing

Your role is, Jeremy Irving, (Town)

The carpenter and lumberjack of the village of Woodshire, you're the reason why most of the structures in this little village are standing. In the day, you head into the forest with your trusty axe, felling a sturdy oak and chopping it up into manageable pieces. In the night, you sit in your workshop, chipping and sawing, until gnarled pieces of bark turn into fine smooth boards, perfect for construction.

Twas one night, as you worked into the dawn of morning, shaping your greatest creation of them all, a perfect wooden copy of the town itself, what would have been your life's greatest pride. Somebody knocked on the door, and irritated, you set down your tools and hurriedly walked over to open the door and see who it was, maybe it was that irritating mayor asking for a cedar table to add to his dining room. What you didn't expect, was a stranger standing in the doorway, thoroughly irritated, you sought to close the door, but he barged his way through and withdrew a club from his cloak and floored you. Whilst dazed, he rolled over your body and inserted a syringe into your arm, blackness soon overcame you.

Zain, Vanessa Ayers

Hi Zain, thanks for playing

Your role is, Vanessa Ayers, (Town)

A normal denizen of the town, you farm for a living. Daily you toil the fields, and keep what crops you need for your own family, the rest of the produce is sold to the general store to be redistributed to the population.

One fine night, you were on the way to head to the general store. Your husband's plough had broken down and you set off with a few coins in hand to replace it, hopefully the store was still open. On the way there, you saw a truck parked outside of the store, upon closer investigation, it was a stranger. Perhaps he had came here to buy goods? That would mean the store was still open! Happy that your journey in the frigid night cold was not in vain, you hastened your pace and walked through the doors. Strangely, nobody was there?

You called out into the open air, "Hello?", but nobody responded.

Annoyed, you walked out of the door and walked to the man, who now was strolling to the doors of his truck.

"Excuse me, do you know where the store owner went? You just bought something did you not?" You intoned in a polite voice.

The man gave no response as he spun around, and shoved you into the cold hard dirt. Shocked and dazed, you could only give a sharp cry of pain as he injected your arm with a syringe. The last thing you felt before going unconscious, was the man picking you up, and tossing you into the back of his truck, before it drove off into the darkness.

Pro-Town

A1_Unit, Mayor Martin Willford

Hi A1, thanks for playing

Your role is, Martin Willford, (Town)

The mayor of the village of Woodshire, you grew up in a village unconcerned with the trappings of modern society, content to live in peace and away from civilization, yet, who said you can't live in comfort? One of many who actually wanted a position of authority, you eventually ran for mayor and won overwhelmingly, no one else wanted such a "boring" administrative position. You handle the taxes, occasionally switch some figures around, after all, who would suspect a thing? All the money went for construction and maintenance of important buildings like the church anyway, which didn't need repairs.

One night, as you were reclining upon the couch in your Mayor's Residence, a loud knocking sounding upon the door. Irritated at being visited at such a late hour, you yelled back for him to go away and come back the following morning. Alas, the knocking persisted and you figured that you wouldn't get a moment of peace if you didn't answer the knocker. Probably some citizen who wanted to file some request for a house extension or something. Opening the door with an irritated remark, you soon realize that what you are standing face to face with is hardly a meek citizen of the town. He grabs you and throws you backwards onto the floor, and your skull contacts with a table, dazing and stunning you. With that out of the way, he rolled you onto your back and injected you in your arm, you tried to flail and resist with your other arm, but the drug took effect swiftly and you drifted into unconsciousness.

Awakening within a mansion, you take in the sights rapidly. Mahogany furniture, glass chandeliers, marble flooring, and six other people?? What mad man had brought you all to this place? Determined to find out, taking care not to over strain your poor aching back, you stand up slowly, looking around the room. Eyes sweeping over to the other six, you knew that at least one of them, was responsible for this travesty.

Objectives: Get out of this mansion, survival is preferred, but the only way to do that would be to remove the madmen who have brought you here.

Abilities: One accustomed to corruption and forging, every voting phase, you may choose to nullify one vote, smudging it and rendering it unreadable. This can be used on votes on you, and the nullified vote will not show in the final tally. PM me by the end of the day phase if you choose to do so, but decide wisely, people may not take well to someone messing with the tally if they notice.

Good luck!

Thoughts on the game:

This was my first game, and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. Hosting, while tiring, writing them role pms and all :laugh4: is a very fun activity to do, as you watch the players deliberate and your sitting on top knowing everything behind the scenes.

Thank you all, for being active in this game

I originally planned for being simply two mafia, but I thought that had the possibility of going all wrong, what if the town consistently lynched wrongly? After all they had no other intel, so the mayor came into being.

A1_Unit was planned that, in the event of mafia and him left standing, town would be pulling off a victory in the bag.

He would vote for him, and the mafia would vote back, but he would nullify the mafia's vote and then win.

Unfortunately, A1 had to use it to save himself on phase 1, and subsequently get lynched for it on phase 2.

I suspect I didn't give the town enough to deliberate about, the constant day phases required constant player attention, perhaps I should instead deck out the town and mafia alike with abilities and counter abilities, to create a more interesting game that had the possibility to go either way depending on player choices.

Anyway, it was great fun writing and I hope you all had a enjoyable (if confusing :S) experience.

I loved how you made a big deal about irony in my lynch write up-- I was killed by my partner, for appearing more innocent

I'm curious how well my attempts to confuse the town were. I'm quite proud of thinking of the Rapaccini's Daughter connection, I thought that made the whole thing more believeable. Plus, it was sort of true it turns out, which wasn't something I expected. I have to ask now whether you were aware of that story at all when you were making this?

Firstly I would like to thank my partner CCRunner. Sorry for getting you lynched even though I didn't know that you were my partner
Congratulations to those who almost nailed me at the end. You guys would've won if you guys had a bit more time.

Finally a big thank you to DiY for hosting his first game.. A fun one too :laugh4:
My first experience of hosting was scary but, now I enjoy it more then playing  Please host more DiY! I enjoyed your write ups :2thumbsup:

Not really, I just had a ironic and dark gloomy mood in mind, to set a backstory as a prelude of sorts to this "travesty" so to speak, explore the bad guy in a more humane way

I'm not terribly good at writing dialogues, so I mainly stuck to narrative writing and the scenes begged to be written.

My earlier lynch write ups lacked some... substance, so for later ones I tossed in more items and increased the background history, hoping it'll lend some sort of emotional depth to the lynch.

I'm glad someone caught on to the irony reference though :clown:

The plant references were in regards to his history of genetic engineering coupled with macabre tastes.

The story was based on The Mansion, as well as the end scene based on Parasite, a reference to when I, as the parasite cerebrate, wrote messages to townies and convinced them that somehow they were the mafia now :clown:

I think you were very successful in this aspect, I actually felt really bad when I was lynched, it was sad, my poor scale model :(
