Hi, I just did something dumb and downloaded an update to the EB Trivial Script from another thread here so I could watch an AI-only game, and apparently it isn't compatible with the alex.exe mini mod pack because it now it keeps trying to open EB with rome.exe and not alex. Unless someone can tell me how to get the Trivial Script to run EB off of alex again and not rome, I'm just gonna do a re-install. I made backups of some of the .txt files that I have edited and put them in a different folder for safekeeping, but I don't know how to overwrite the vanilla text files with mine after I do the re-install. I tried to copy/paste, but when I copy the text file there is no option to paste it on another, and when I try to just drag and drop it just puts the text file behind the one I want to be overwritten. I only have regular notepad as I have no idea how to work notepadd++ (i didn't even know which one to download lol), so does anyone know of a way to overwrite the text files? Sorry if this is a stupid/noob question, thanks for your time!

Update: I got EB running off of alex again, so now I would just like to know how to overwrite text files. Thanks!

All the trivial script does is to add command line switches to the RTW exe. Do you can add these commands manually by opening your shortcut and edit the target line. Simply add at the end one of these commands (http://rtw.heavengames.com/rtw/mods/tutorials/command_line/index.shtml). This is compatible with RTW/BI/ALEX

I'm personally not using the trivial script, so I do not know if you can tell the script which exe to start. Maybe Tellos Athenaios can answer this if he reads this thread

Overwriting is in theory simple. Just right click on the item you want to copy, go to the target directory, rightclick on an empty space an select paste. What is causing your error? Do you use vista and installed EB into program files?

You can download notepadd++ (strictly recommended if you want o edit txt-files) from here:http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/files/
