Good evening everyone

Why can't I make alliances with other factions anymore - except those who already are my allies?

I am not at war with anyone.
The faction I want to make my ally is not enemy to one of my already existing allies.


Or, to be more exact.


My Allies: Sweboz, Saba, Arverni
My Enemies: Eleutheroi

Pahlavas Allies: Ptolemaioi, Koinon Hellenon
Pahlavas Enemies: Saka Rauka, Eleutheroi


The Koinon Hellenon might be enemies of the Arverni or/and Sweboz. His Ally ist enemy of my Ally. Is that it?

I'm at moment very tired, so just a short guess.

The engine kepts IIRC the status you had to factions who were killed, so if you i.e. destroyed Pontos while they were allied to Pahlave, the horsemen will not ally you.
I do not think that your last guess "His Ally ist enemy of my Ally" is right, but that is just my personal gaming experience. Maybe there is somewhere a thread about this mechanics, I'll search tomorrow for that.
