Hi Everybody,

Some great news from NVIDIA!!! They have finally released a new official driver set for their video cards: Driver version 12.41.

The good news is that they work with Shogun. They don't show the dreaded Crash to desktop we know so well. But not only that...

Some players report that these drivers also solve some of the problems that we haven't been able to sort out:

* Slow battles
* Slow play in the strategy map
* Choppy performance or crash in river and castle battles

These drivers show excellent performance. In the benchmarks these are the fastest drivers I have seen so far. Their performance and image quality is very smooth. Also in the tweakers forums the general idea is that these driver are pretty good.

In my opionion these drivers might well be a MUST HAVE for every NVIDIA owner that wants to play Shogun.

So, what are you waiting for? They are available at http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers

If you still have problems report them here.

THX Erado, this one can stay open for a bit here so people can see it, though it "really" ought to be Tech support (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Tech+Support+and+Questions&number=2&DaysPrune=45&LastLogin=) http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

Well, it's there as well. I reckon this is great news for the general public so even though it's tech related, I thought it best to post it here as well.

I am glad that I downloaded them, now I just need to install them. Maybe they will fix the strobe light affect I was having during multiplayer.

Will the TNT card take these drivers or is it only for TNT2 onwards?

Erado San says that it won't but in the release notes it says that it will, I posted it in the tech support section of the forum under this same topic.

You are of course right Erado. For anyone who's interested here's the thread (http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000304.html) in the Tech forum.

Dark Phoenix,

Installing these drivers on your TNT card won't do you any good. All of the changes are geared towards TNT2 and higher as you suggest. I tried and had more problems than anything else. Best bet is to keep the drivers that you have now as long as your not having any problems.

Domo arigato, Erado San!

I don't make a move until I hear from you.
10.80 is history. I'm on to 12.41.

Shadelord, by the looks of it you are low on system resources. You have plenty of stuff loaded at startup. I think you must free some system resources.
