Hello, recently I bought a new computer, and I can run every new game fine (I'm btw using W7) such as Modern Warfare 2, Third Age:TW (1900x1200) with no problems at all. But when I play EB I seem to have an fps of a mere 5, which makes it more of a slideshow then a game. Btw my old computer with much worse specs could do this without a problem, and that was Vista!
My specs are:
AMD Athlon II X4 620 processor (overclocked to 3ghz)
2GB RAM
32 BIT W7
NVIDIA Geforce GTS 250 with the latest drivers.
My old specs where:
AMD Quad at 1800ghz
Nvidia 8400

This comes with Win7, same problem here.
Running it in compatibility mode (XP SP 3) and disabling all graphic enhancements makes it somewhat better. I'm actually searching for a solution by now, so saying you are not alone is the only thing I can do right know. If I figure something out (or anyone else too) post it so we can enjoy EB and Win7!:smash:

Damn it, the Windows XP setup is ''not compitable' with Windows 7, so bootdisc it is.
So far my crusade to play EB, I'll continue updates :(
EDIT: Can't get shit to work, are the Windows 7 Home Premiun users doomed? It's a hell to play a game with 7fps.

It suggests a severe regression in the driver stack, or compatibility issues in general *. Which is not all that uncommon with Nvidia ... those drivers are in one word: crap.
So if you feel up to it you can do the driver dance and use older drivers (anything compatible with Vista [or: Windows Driver Model 1.0] should do), or you can try latest and ‘so-called greatest’ from the manufacturer. YMMV.
* Note that RTW works better with (modern) ATI cards than with Nvidia, e.g.: the snow-in-Arabia/sprite-issues are (almost?) exclusively an Nvidia problem.

So what version would I need then, the newest or just the 182.5?

Whichever version works for you. Which you can find out by trial and error only (or near enough anyway).

Thank you! Maybe l will get as high as 10 fps :egypt:
Planning to do this first thing in the morning, I am dying of not playing EB.

Tried another one, FPS is hitting 12 now :(
Could this be because of my widescreen or something?
FPS is hitting 29 (!) and up to 40, still not much, since I can run MW2 on a stable 91 FPS at max resolution.
Checking everything in compability seems to help.

Problem solved, had to change some options in the NVIDIA config, can now play EB on maxed out settings plus resolution on s steady 50 fps
Could you possibly say which settings? I'm sure that would be a great help for others.

Seems to be horrible again :furious3:
Anyway, I'll just play EB on my old laptop that's 3x worse just to get some performance...
I'm giving up on Windows 7.
Nothing helps, I get the same performance on 640x420 and all low, so it definitly isn't a hardware problem, it's just EB-RTW.

Isn't a patch there to actually fix things?

No, my friend's computer even getting crash for playing DOTA, after the automatic update update his Vista... and so, it is safe to assume the same thing happened here...

So, a new W7 update would fix my problem?

Depends on the update you installed.
You can look it under "Windows-Update", there is a list of the latest installed updates and hotfixes.
Could you nevertheless describe what settings you changed in nvidia's control center?

Sorry for bumping this thread but I found a solution, now playing everything maxed out.
The solution is:
Disable high quality shadows
