View Full Version : Activating Campaign Script Bugs

Hi,

So I've been playing EB for awhile and I've rarely gotten to activate the campaign script smoothly throughout an entire campaign without something weird happening. So two things:

I removed some generals from an army as Carthage, and then the rest of the army disappeared. So I went back to the closest save game (an autosave). I tried activating the campaign script and the campaign year changed.

Does this mean that if I am loading a save of the same campaign I am playing, but an older save, that I don't need to activate the campaign script?

Two: or is the issue with loading an autosave? Playing as Casse, my RTW froze, so I reloaded. Loaded up an autosave, and then when I activated the campaign script, the campaign year didn't screw up, but the season did! It went from winter to like summer, I could see the winter textures changing.

So, are there certain scenarios under which you should not activate the campaign script? And also, does this mean my Casse campaign should be restarted?

How you removed them? By move_character or manually? Seems you have a ghost general, did you use the move_character hint in this campaign?

It is recommended to do so, I'll do it that way, so it becomes routine to click that. Note that if you want to play with another faction you will have to restart EB, because the script will not recognize the change.

I disabled the autosave function, because often those files caused crashes and I had problems to load from these saves. It is in any case better to make manually savepoints. In your campaign the autosave file caused problems with the script, you better try to reload another save.

If you get a CTD in AI-turns it helps sometimes to get over that if you play that turn without script. Also some battle-CTD due to dying FM can be solved by not activating it.
If one or two turns the campaign-script is not activated, that should do no great harm.
If you got an earlier save from your Casse campaign load that, otherwise just try it.

I removed them manually.

Ok, I see. But what should I do now after I've noticed that the years were screwed up? Is my campaign messed up already? Will the reforms still activate?

Also, when activating campaign script, if pressing the show me how button doesn't cause the advisor to go away, does that mean something has gone wrong?

If the years come now in normal appearance I would play along, the more saver way would be to reload an older file.

If the button afterwards is grayed out and unclickable, the script is activated.
