Too bad we aren't in a hardware shop, we could have done with a sledgehammer. What kind of chairs are they, they aren't metal are they?

EDIT

Yes there is, and its name is miotas.

Huh? What's overkill about me?

Maybe we could try blasting it apart with the shotgun?

move the chairs away.

The chairs are wooden, not metal.

You grab the nearest chair and pull it backwards with all of your might.

It braces hard against the counter, and other chairs, and by effect the doorframe.

You try pushing, but the same effect happens.

They are locked here unless you break them.

What do you do now?

Double A

We can't lift a chair?

What'd I say? GRIND TIME!

Try to cut one to itty bitty pieces with the wakizashi.

If that doesn't work, we can always drive through the wall.

miotas

Barricade components:
Several boards of wood nailed to the door frame.
Four wooden chairs
A large desk
A lamp, tall and thin

The components are held together in such a way that they prevent someone from moving one part without moving any other part, and all the parts are braced against either the wall/door or the metal counter of the store. You could likely just break it, or use sharp items/tools to remove parts.

We should look around the shop for any metal sports equipment that we could use to smash the chairs.

You're not lifting anything, as I said, the chairs are locked together and you cannot remove one without removing the other, and on either end of the chain of chairs is the metal counter bolted the floor of the store, and the doorframe and a desk in the way. It's not just one chair, it's not that easy, take my word for it. I apologize if I didn't explain it right

You pull out your wakizashi and let out a cry as you chop down at the chairs, you successfully cut through the leg of one chair, and your sword is lodged in the back of another. You carefully remove it and chop another leg off.

You repeat this process, throwing the removed legs away, until there are no more chairs, there is just a desk and the door.

What do you do now?

Push the desk away from the door.

Sorry Ibn, first orders first

You grab the desk and pull it out of the doorway, it slides out easily. Once it is clear you push it to the side of the door.

There is now just a door between yourself and Jacob.

Suddenly, the door creaks, you raise your shotgun in defense and point it at the pitiful husk of a person.

Jacob staggers through the door and braces himself against the now open door.

"H-hey... thanks for that." Jacob smiles at you, he looks like a mess since the last time you saw him, he has lost much muscle mass.

"You got any food I could have? I'm starving..."

Jacob has joined the party.
He has his own separate inventory, but he remains his own person.
The collective consciousness has no control over him. He will be useful in your travels nonetheless.

Jacob grabs the candy and eagerly eats it. He sighs contently afterwards and quickly drinks a bottle of water.

He pants a bit, "Thanks for that, I should be able to function now..."

You look at him and smile, "So what're you packin?" you ask.

"I've got a shiny old German saber that I've been using for whenever the zombies get close." he replies, patting the sheathed saber attached to his waist.

I've also got this sick repeating pistol that I found... lying around." he says, pulling out an Ingram Mac11.

Other than that, I've got the hammer and a general assortment of other small tools."

You nod a bit and smile to yourself, you knew picking him out of the barricade would be a good idea.

Jacob pipes up again, "
Anyway... what happens now? Do you think we should start working together from here on out? If there's going to be more food on the way, you can count me in... but I think we should find someplace genuinely safe. Running around out here in the open is not going to work forever.""

You nod at him, "I think that's a fantastic idea, but where should we go?" you ask him.

"Your guess is as good as mine...."

You place a hand to your temple and rub it, you need to find somewhere safe, secure, with more food, prepared for an attack such as this...

Where could that be...?

Perhaps we should send her(Cassie?) and Jacob to some hospital near by(Staten Island University Hospital?) and try to gather some drugs, bandages etc.
These will always be useful.
On their way there if they see a grocery store they should stop and find some food for Jacob.

We should definitely first check the back of the store for more weapons and ammunition. Also we might want to ask Jacob what he remembers of the situation we are in, after all we still don't know how this whole mess started.

Also, split, could we get the stats of Jacob?

We should diff check the back... I thought I had put that in my previous order.... lol... Aside from that... Theres a military base just across the bridge from where we are now... (In no traffic like a 5 min drive...)

The Zombies dont seem to be that rampant yet... However the military base is across into brooklyn which as far as I know is more populated??? (ive never been to NY)

But first things first...

Ask Jacob to stand gaurd... Go and search the back room thoughly taking any weapons and ammo... Even though Jacob would have cleared the room... be alert always

Brooklyn is indeed much more populated than staten island, and at a higher concentration I believe as well (more people per square mile).

"Jacob, watch here, I'm going to check out the back." you pat him on the shoulder and step into the back room.

The room is smaller than you thought, about half as long as the rest of the store, just as wide and tall however.

Inside there are several racks lining the walls, some with incompletely assembled weapons in them, others bare. On the far right, two lockers, where you figure the completed weapons are stored, and a work bench, the bench has a medium sized rifle on it, something that surprises you since rifles are not legal in new york city as far as you know. Along the walls to your left and right there are several racks of magazines, likely old issues brought back here for cataloging, and several crates most empty, some containing various ammunition types.

There is also a small fridge, a makeshift stove, and a frying pan here, likely Jacob's food source during his time in here.

The room looks oddly neat, if a bit sparse, it doesn't appear as if it has been touched much, either that or Jacob has organized what remains of it fantastically.

What do you do now?

Seon
03-14-2010, 23:44

Take the rifle. Search the fridge for any food. Also take the ammunitions (what's remaining, at least) from the crates and open the lockers to see what's inside.

You walk over to the bench and pick up the rifle, to your surprise it is indeed a rifle type gun, it's an SKS Carbine, a russian made carbine equivalent to the AK, it fires 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition. This will be a valuable asset to your inventory, providing your aim is good...

You open the fridge and it is empty, as Jacob had said, there's nothing in here, not even crumbs.

You step over to the crates and pick up some 7.62 ammo, perfect in combination with the SKS, there's not much else in the crates, it seems whoever left the SKS figured they'd be nice enough to leave the ammo as well.

You step over to the lockers and open the left one, according to the label inside there are explosive munitions. You open the right locker, and there are gun parts, including a cylinder for your .44 magnum, you take it and walk over to the bench.

You place the magnum and the clyinder on the bench and walk back to the locker.

Inside the left one:
A small box marked "Explosives! Danger!" with a skull on it.
A large box, unmarked, it is almost as tall as the locker.
A medium box on top of the small box, unmarked as well.

Inside the right one:
3 empty SKS magazines
An 8x optical scope
Supplies for putting guns together
Gun repair tools

What do you take?

You open up the small box first, inside you find 5 grenades!.

"What the F-.... Grenades?" you utter. "That certainly can't be legal..."

You open up the medium box, and you find 3 RPG rockets.

You cast your gaze now at the large box, wondering what telse could possibly be in here.

You open it and it is a large RPG-7 launcher, with one rocket inside.

"Holy :daisy:, why would anyone need this sort of thing?" you question, picking up the grenades and rockets and carring the launcher.

"Well, whatever, my gain in the end..."

You step out of the room, and back to Jacob. He is standing where he last was.

Yes, but I am not saying that it is the russian equivalent to the AK.

It is just another russian made gun, and that fact is completely separate from the fact that it is the carbine equivalent of the AK.

There are also other models of SKS, some chineese, korean, etc.

I'm just saying, it is the russian model, which may or may not be good.

I'll accept these two orders since it's been a while since last update :D

You hand Jacob all the heavy things, and carry the light things out to the truck. You order him to load all of the stuff into the back. He mumbles something about you being a "Bossy :daisy:," and how he's had "Enough of this :daisy: at the shop..." but he does as you say.

When he is done loading you open the door for him and walk around to the driver's side, you order him to get his Mac 11 ready and loaded, and he does such.

You hand him the SKS, "If we need to shoot on the move, use this to aim, if they get close, use the Mac..." you say to him.

You pull out your Five seveN and cock it, you place the shotgun on the seat next to you, it's kind of unwieldy in the cab of this truck, as large as it is.

You turn to Jacob before you pull off, and sigh.

"Hey,"

"Yeah?"

"So... how did all..... this happen? What the heck is going on?"

"What, did you get amnesia or something?" Jacob snickers to himself as if he's made some clever joke regarding your memory. You stare daggers at him.

"I will blow you up with my mind you sonofa-"

"Well, since you put it that way..." he cuts you off.

"I guess I'll fill you in on what I remember... It's so surrounded in conspiracy, though, that you really can't be sure of anything, not nowadays anyway...

It all started a few weeks ago when North Korea launched all it's nukes, you remember that right?"

You give him a strange look and shake your head, you have no idea what he is talking about.

"Well, that doesn't matter, we didn't actually get nuked or anything, so don't worry about eating too many rads and turning into a super mutant or anything. Anyway, the press got wind of this whole plot between the CIA and Mr. Jong-Il, so our own government was in on the whole thing you could say. Most of Europe and Asia were nuked however, and when they got an inkling that we were a part of it, they weren't happy. They were our allies from way back, ya know? That's some cold :daisy:...."

He pauses and clears his throat, you stare at him in utter disbelief, but very intrigued.

"Some of these major countries, mostly our old WW2 allies the UK and France were pissed, and rightfully so, so they got together with our old cold war enemies the Ruskis... Turns out when their rocket landed on Mars a few months ago, it came back with this.... bactera that they found. Well long story short they weaponized it and launched it at all of our major cities. Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Miami, San Francissco, all gone. The bacteria infects somewhere around 90% of the population, and the rest of us are just scattering around like rats in the street, being eaten, seeking refuge, or taking the easy way out..."

He pauses for a second and looks down at the SKS in his hands, he sighs a heavy sigh and shakes his head side to side. He looks back at you, notices the look on your face, one of utter disbelief.

"Like I said.... some real deep conspiracy :daisy:.... Anyway, it seems as if Africa would be the best place to be now, they didn't get hit with nukes or bioweapons... That's been my plan, I just have no idea how the heck I'm going to get there... The saharah would've kept out any wayward zombies, and the boats have stopped running. I'd just hate to boat over there and infect them too....

I'm still working out the details.... but that can wait... right now we need to find somewhere safe..."

You look at him and nod, thinking about his story, there's a possibility it's true, heck, you'd believe anything at this point if you were just a wee bit more gullible. You can't remember anything anyway, for all you know it's all right, as absurd as it sounds. He gives you a halfhearted smile, and turns his back on you, staring out the window, gently gripping the loaded SKS on his lap, he seems.... focused.... on nothing.... or something serious, you can't tell, all you can tell is that he's hurting. You take a deep breath and sigh, wondering what the heck being locked up in that gunshop has done to him. Then again you don't remember him being the most sane person ever, but he seems fit to hold a weapon, for now, so you can use him, for now, and either way, he's still your friend...

You begin to think of safe places to go to...

What do you do now?

Stildawn
03-17-2010, 03:34
Ooooo... This kinda reminds me of a cross between Sum of All Fears and the video clip to All Nightmare Long by Metallica lol.

Safe places.... Well for one we need more food, we dont really have any proper food as yet, just junk food etc.... My plan would be to get a large boat and live in the harbour etc only coming in land for supplies... Or we could live at the statue of liberty... Im sure we could clear that island of zombies pretty easily...

I just dont know much about NY... Might have a look around google earth etc... but yeah whos keen on the boat/island idea?

The only ones you can think of are major supermarkets over on your side of the island. Back the way you came from...

03-17-2010, 03:55
I think we need a long term goal/plan... And we can get supplies on the way to achieving that plan... This is NY.. Im sure there are supermarkets/food shops etc all over the place.... However.... According to that post... We are surrounded by 16200000 zombies lol. With only 1.8million possible humans left, and Id say most of them are dead by now... Especially in inner Manhattan...

So... Ill look around google earth to hopefully find a marina or somethink where there is a ferry or a boat large enough for our truck (I think we should try keep our truck lol) I know at my local marina... There are two ships that can take a car on board... And in the Marina in town theres the car ferry... So im sure we can find something in NY.

Stildawn
03-17-2010, 04:10
Ok... If we go north along Tompkins Ave, then Right then left onto Bay St and follow that North we come to the Staten Island Ferry, where there are at least 5 car ferries from what I can see... One at least is bound to be at dock, and there will be fuel reserved on site...

On the way to that we have lots of possible food shops:

- Convient Food Mart just up the road... Looks like a large ish Kwik Mart type place.
- Lucky Deli and Grocery... On the corner of Bay Street from where we would come from... Again looks like a smallish Shop.
- Montelbanos up Bay Street... A Medium Size resturant would have food inside for sure.
- Bay Lin Grocery... Further up Bay Street... medium sized shop.
- Staten Island University Hospital... Further up Bay Street... Might be a good place to stop for medical supplies... IV's, Morphine, Adrenalin etc
- Day and Night Grocery... Further up Bay Street again... Small shop.
- Amin Grocery... Again further up Bay Street... Small Shop.

And thats about puts us at the Ferry Building... Im not saying we should stop at all these... but just our options...

Also in the meantime, Israel would have been invaded, and they and Iran would have nuked each other too.

It's called natural selection. You don't need to be intelligent for that :p

Ibn-Khaldun
03-18-2010, 20:27
No, they are not intelligent. But they would rather stay in the area where there could be a lot of food.. that is humans..
Yes, I agree, we need supplies.
IIRC, then Cassie got scratched by the zombie who attacked him near the gas station..
That scar needs to be taken care of.

Stildawn
03-18-2010, 22:50
The explaination says that the virus or whatever only effected 90%... So Im assuming that since we have not already turned into a zombie... That our body/immune system has naturally defeated the virus... So therefore bites scratches etc are not a threat other than normal bleeding since our body has already defeated the virus...

Ok... However even so... We still need supplies so we have to take that risk.. We are well armed and have a team mate... And the stores I listed on the way are small shops so it shouldnt be too bad... Its not like they are epic supermarkets...

But everyone generally agrees with my Car Ferry plan? We could live on the boat... Or take over the statue of liberty (which I believe has buildings etc on the grounds so we have shelter.. We could even grow crops there lol if this game lasts that long lol

That could all be a flashback.

Anyway, I think we should follow Stildawn's plan.
It's better than waiting for some zombie horde to show up.

Don't bother bumping this one anymore.

I'll talk to split when I see him tomorrow and remind him about this game- then we'll be able to tell for sure whether or not it's dead.

Splitpersonality

I was actually considering starting this up after I get settled into my university tomorrow :o

I liked the concept but I was a little too reliant on real world places, if I was going to do another game I'd use fictional locations for the sake of ease.

Any updates or future things will be made announced here.

Nope. Hasn't been for months, and splitpersonality doesn't really frequent the forums anymore. Probably should be locked.

Was this the one where it was like switching between the girl and her sister and I tried to get them to make out?

Double A
12-09-2010, 17:36
Yep.

I remember I said "Kill your sister with the katana" but the katana was gone. And I was sad.

Yep.

I remember I said "Kill your sister with the katana" but the katana was gone. And I was sad.

Yeah I just read the first 8 pages (80ppp)

Man this game was :diasy:'d up.

Nothing made sense, we really gotta get split here to explain it all.

I think the basis of the game was "Your sister gets raped after you wake up from the zombie apocalypse."
