I don't know what to call the type of game :sweatdrop:

Anyone interested in a third? It would be considerably shorter than GH's and I believe split's as well, set in current day, no zombies or aliens or 15 billion dollar defence budgets.

"Interactive Story" is the term.

Though you given me an idea of one set in the Org Mafia universe.

You are GeneralHankerchief, there is a word of a Hacker, you must find clues and use your wily cunning to save the day.

Don't worry, I recognise you as the next successor. I was doing a mental picture of GeneralHankerchief's face when he reads my post doing the following:

*reads post*
*waits a few moments* ...
*facepalms*
*turns around, facing out the window*
"BESKAAARRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!"

I think 2 is more than enough but if people want them then who am I to say otherwise.

I second Subotan. Lets wait for one of the game to finish.

Thats the problem, I don't know how long split's is planned for, but I asked GH and he said his was planned to take all of 2010.

Well if theres interest then do it... No reason not too.

I for one would love as many non mafia games as possible lol.... As Ive decided I dont like large online mafia games, cant be bothered to analyse ever person lol.

A multiple person one sounds interesting, but it is fraught with problems, such as, are other characters allowed to know the results?

So this might mean you might result in having to do PM's to give out results (which hides the story from others).

The biggest problem of such a move is the fact it will take up a lot of time doing a lot of orders. So there must be a significant time investment on your part to make it work.

My ORG idea is going to be significantly more fast paced compared to Splits and GH's games, which are rumoured to last the year. This is mainly a combination due to my activity levels on the .ORG and I won't make the "world" that big. It would be working on the combination of the 3 .ORG mini games and the .ORG small game world. (So only characters I already used before) with the possibility of another moderator, as he will be replacing one of the ones who just retired.

Anyway pevergreen, you can start now if you like. Up to you.

I'll need permission from mods.

Even if I don't, I wont do it without it.

GH said in the other thread that it was up to you.

However, if we want to formalise it. I suggest that people work on stories in advance and work out how many turns it will last.

I think 1 turn per day, for 30 days (similar) average could count as a short game. A large game would be 3 months, aka 90 turns. A huge game would be more.

I would make my Org version a short game, for instance.

Also, I think we should formalise the name/genre as: "Interactive Story" as it is akin to interactive stories.

You can't really judge that to it... Something as simple as in splits game, what if we didnt go home. We would have never found out we don't appear in picture and therefore etc etc.

Well my idea was to just post everyones moves openly, but they send me orders via PM, so no body knows whats happening really till the write up....

As for the effort levels, it would only be a small number of players like 10 max.

Stilldawns idea sounds more like a normal role playing game. Not that theres anything wrong with it.

01-14-2010, 03:58
yeah basically but will be as open ended as GH's game.... like no set rules at all lol.

If you stay tuned to my game, you'll find out the answer to this question very soon, probably in one of the next three writeups

I said to give me time for a reason, which will become clear when you read the writeup... I need tiem to gather information, do rolls, and whatnot. It's really going to take a long time.

Do you know if you'll be doing phases like my game?

If so I might be able to work it out so that we switched back and forth every phase... Such that we could each get a break from hosting for a little bit, in case either of us need it, without having to forfeit our game in whole.

Thoughts?

No, not really.

In mine you start off, you quickly find out what the objective is, and there is only that one objective.

No dream worlds, no crazy alternate world.

Much simpler, much shorter as well.

(This is mainly because i could go create a wonderful world for it to take place in, but my writing skills are terribad, so it would all turn into mush)

Have a try anyway. Even I'm doing write up and I got terrible grades in English.

Never. I don't like TWC.

Beefy: Surely you know how bad my writeups are...

You ever hear about that short story that we had to write end of term 3, in yr 12? I finished mine off with the lyrics to "never gunna give you up" in french.

TWC doesn't like you :snobby:

Anyway, I'd be fine with a third, seeing as we're about to get killed in GH's game (or I'll be forced to not play) and Split's game has suddenly gotten a lot less interesting since there are no stores to loot or containers to open or theaters to rob.

I just played through God of War. Everything for the next week or so will have to have at least 20 gallons of blood in it to keep me interested.

Speaking of which, I'm off to play Dragon Age.

Reading all these games makes me want to run one of my own sometime. Of course we already have 3 so I don't mean right now, unless I sabotaged one of the others with suicidal orders......:idea2:

Or I suppose if I didn't want to wait I could run it on TWC, but I don't know if I'd get many participants/readers over there.
