Hi all,

I posted this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=125405) in the Apothecary, but I don't know if anyone looks there anymore, so I thought i'd link it (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=125405) here.

Thanks!

It isn't Windows 7, as that works perfectly. So you have to think outside of that.

You reformatted and installed Windows 7, I presume. What is your graphics card, have you tried updating your graphical drivers for your computer? Go to the Nvidia and ATI website and get that.

That sounds most likely to be the problem.

Well, the card worked fine with Vista. I have updated drivers already. The other major change is I went from a 32 bit to a 64 bit OS. Could that be the issue?

It works perfectly fine on 64bit-OS, as I am using Windows 7 64-bit myself.

Saying "that is the issue" is possibly not the correct answer. It is most likely something is not working how it should be working with the change over.

How did you upgrade to windows 7? Is this a fresh-install of ETW, or the same one you used previously? etc.

Nope, formatted HD, installed OS, drivers, then installed both Steam and ETW from scratch...

Other games work fine, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, HOI3, EUIII, FarCry2... So don't know what's wrong.

The Saboteur is also giving me issues, but apparently my graphics card is not supported...

Only idea I can think so... you backed up your "My documents" etc, and you got your old configuration files and for some reason this is playing up.

Other than that, I don't know.

Hmm... That's worth checking out. I have several HDs installed and I only wiped one.... Thanks for the idea! I'll try this out

Yeah, I remember I had a problem when a mod file changed a settings file. I deleted the either it was userdata ETW folder, or it is in my documents, one or the other, and then used Steam's "verify integrity" on ETW and that fixed it.

Have you tried letting Steam check the integrity of the game files or reinstalling ETW?

Yeah, and defragmented also, but no dice... Internet connection at home is kaput, so can't reinstall... Will check asap

Well, in case anyone is wondering, i did make it work, eventually. It was the MyDocuments folder. After I purged that, and reinstalled it all worked like a charm. Lost all my mods though. Ah well.
