Hey All !

To get a campaign rolling or to make some fast Mnari in the beginning of the game Diplomats are your best weapon !

Allways check out your diplomatic situation first !

Move the diplomat in the direction to the factions with which u are in war !

And offer them a ceasefire and ask for a single payment !!

Just tried that out with Pontus , Rome and Sweboz !

When u play with Pontus u can get a ceasefire with Ptolemaio and they gonna pay u 12.5k Mnari ! But remind dont take Mazakaa in the first round ( works if u get the spy inside the town) because u need it as a border between u and Ptolemaio otherwhise they dont gonna accept ! If u attack and capture Mazaka the next rounds u can also get ceasefire again with AS and they gonna pay 7.5 Mnari ( maybe not in the same round but 2 rounds later) sometimes also in the same round :laugh4: If u attack AS some rounds later again for example in Antiocheia to make some quick money from looting and destroying the city ! u have the chance that the AS gonna ask u for a ceasefire again ! If u offer them Antiocheia as a gift and ask for 5k they offer an alliance

With Sweboz u can get ceasefire with Averni and Aedui both gonna pay 10k Mnari !!

With Rome i just tried out Aedui for now and they payed 10k !

Also try to sell your map information (2-3k was the best i could get so far )

So i think this is some nice Money in the beginning for doing nothing !

Well this is common knowledge.
But on which campaign settings are you playing? It seems wierd that factions have such money to offer, especially in the early campaigns. They usually give just a few K in the beginnig of the campaign

Btw. It's Mnai, not Mnari. Mnari is a tunesian football-player

Yeah, diplomats saved my money budget for a few times so i didn't go red in debt. In my experience, selling trade rights/map information works only if a player has very little money: I've never managed to sell trade rights/case fire/map information when i was approx. 5k in plus.

I have one trick which saved my Pontos (or Pahlava?) campaign: I've send my diplomat into Italy and proposed this to Romaioi: "give us 10 000 minai, and we will pay 5 000 per turn for 5 turns"; Barbaroi accepted that, and they gave me my 10 000 minai. After that, with the same diplomat i canceled our deal and i haven't give them a penny. I received some "transgression" message then but i didn't care: Romaioi were sooo far away from my lands :laugh4: And, yeah, after a few turns, i did the same once again :smash:

It would have been funny should the Romans have assassinated that diplomat.

On my Sweboz game a while ago, I would do funny things like that. I would tell the Romans to give me 1000 mnai, and they'd respond with some stupid offer where I'd pay them 14536 for 275 turns and they'd give me 2138. Obviously I canceled the tribute. They stopped doing that after I sacked Rome though.
