hey guys, i'm new to the forum altough I've been looking to it for a very long time (since I downloaded and installed EB) and let me tell you that it has been very useful for improving my experience with this great mod, the best in my humble opinion...
Anyways, what I really wanted you to help me out is with this:

https://img691.imageshack.us/img691/5267/wtffs.png (https://img691.imageshack.us/i/wtffs.png/)

you see, here's my faction's heir... he is called Publius Curius Dentatus when he was formely named Publius Aurelius Cotta!!

then comes all those messed up traits...
Gens Octavia (neither Aurelia nor Curia at least, I mean, wtf?)
Adopted into gens iunia (more wtf?)
Clien ruler (who could he be a client ruler if he WILL BE my faction's leader???)

there are more traits that are really messed up, like he was "named king of the celts" or something like that... I mean and not only is one general's problem, every one and single of them suffers from it...

What can i do??

There are some thing messed up in your game.
Did you activate the EB-Backgroundscript every time you load a game? Did you switch between factions while a session of EB?
Are there any changed files in your installation?

Did you installed the fixes foe EB 1.2? Is the right version showed in the main menu (1.2)?

I believe things like this can occur if you transfer a save between different EB versions.

in fact i did install thoses fixes for 1.2 version, but it said that there was no problem and they wouldn't affect my game...

and I always activate the background scripte every time I play.

I didn't understan your question about the factions.. but I've only played two different factions with EB: rome and saba, but i played with saba long ago. I stopped playing rome total war due my exams, and when i took it again i made another caimpaign, this time with the romani
I also have checked that 1.2 version is currently running

WAIT, i think i didnt patch EB with the script fix... ill see if that solves the problem... anyways, any help would be appreciated :)

Did you switched from 1.1 to 1.2? This is not compatible, there were too many changes.
The script fix is not related to the traits, what is your problem. Did you change any part of your installation, or it is even a new installation?

XSamatan

@Ludens:
Could you move this into the technical subforum? Thx!

If you used a save from 1.1 in a 1.2 game and saved that you will recieve bugs even if you switch back.
If you however posses a "unused" slot you could savely go back to 1.1

Definitively! This totally messes everything up that was changed in version 1.2

Make a copy in a different folder, install EB new according to this guide (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270), insert your savegame. However, if the game is bugged from beginning, your game is lost, and you should with a clean, new EB installation.

IIRC this means, their father was killed by the Sabeans, but is a clear sign of messed-up trait files

thx a lot XSamatan!! it looks like the game has been recovered from that ugly mess that the traits were... In fact i just took the save game since the last time i played (229 bc) so no achievement was lost!

all traits have returned to normal (even the name of publius aurelius cotta)

the only thing that remained is this:

so... is he really dead??

These sort of traits, if I remember correct are given to generals who died, so their sons could gain traits like "Hating the Sabaens" to represent the revenge he is planning.

I wish you luck with your campaign, but do yourself a favor and save in many different slots, there are some bugs in your campaign, if you got a little diversity to choose if CTD's happen later in the game, you will be happy.

I'll take your advice, and thanks a lot again, you were really helpful.

cya! and it seems that the romans will begin to take sabeans lands.
IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN...
