For my AAR roleplaying, I'd like to be able to adopt family members with a nomadic ethnicity.
(Would "Skuda" be a good name, you think? The Greeks called all steppe peoples Scythians IIRC.)

It seems easiest to change the Makedon ethnicity, because it already triggers some other traits which would perfectly fit the Scythian ethnicity - drinking, good cavalry commander. I would only have to change the name to be good. I can still roleplay some of the Hellens in my game to be Makedon, so that shouldn't be to much of a problem.

So, how would this be done?

There is only one file you'd need to edit for that, that's the .../Rome - Total War/EB/data/text/export_vnvs file. Keep looking until you've found "Baktria_Makedon" (or something like that) and edit the entry as much as you like.

Skuda is a Persian word, as far as I'm aware. I think you could better use the word "Skythes" or "Sakes" (Sakai being Greek for "Scythians").

Skythikos, "Scythian."
