Hi all,

Where can I find the pictures of the various events like Thomas Becket or Assasinations, etc.?
And what format are they in?

Thanks,
Gloucester

They're in .bif format in "Medieval - Total War\campmap\epic.bif"

There's all of 153 frames. I've scrolled through this, cause many you never get to see, and many quite nice pieces of art. Not all 153 are used. I so far haven't wanted or dared edit this, but I'm sure somewhere there's a link to the description and the frame number. Probably hardcoded though.

Hi,

Can you use color pictures there? I keep getting this sludge - apparently the color tables aren't the same. Any way I can change the color table of the entire bif file so I can use more colorful pics?

Thanks,
Gloucester

I was able to add custom pictures to the epic.bif file but you are limited to the pallete of the original pictures. for instance i modified the crusade picture with a picture of a dragon and some cool looking knights to make it seem like you were going on a quest in the camelot mod. You have to decrease the color intensity of the pictures and then apply the color palette of epic.bif to your picture for it to work. Also you have to resize the picture.. its very tricky and allot of work..

You can't change the color tables? So we're limited to that faux aged papyrus look? That really sucks... One complaint I have and I hoped to improve with this mod is that the Medieval period was supposed to be very 'colorful'... oh well... so how do you change the pics?

You can use the KD_Camelot_Epic file I uploaded as a guide on how to manipulate the epic.bif file with BIFREADER.

I take you on a step by step incluided are ready bmps' that that you can replace them. I know, it sucks that we are limited to that old crusty looking pallete but some pics will come out ok if you experiment. Just make sure to do it on a copy of your epic.bif in the campmap folder and not the original..
