Is there any method for editing the way MTW assign the image files to different factions, different cultures??.
May i add new directories containing new images for different factions (christians for example) without hardcoding the game? (instead of muslims, christians and pagan, any other different)
(Entrance Hall topic (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=2232)).

[B]What do you want to do ? If you make a faction you have to assign it a religion, Pagan,Orth,CAth,Mus Depending on what religion you choose that is the pics you will get. But you can change that. For example:say New faction will be Americans and you want the Americans to have the golden horde army but not those god awful portraits. You go to the pagan folder Generals Prince Or watever folders there are in there and you replace the pictures with pictures that you would deem adequate. The trick is the Pictures you put in there have to be Resized to the same size of the original portraits and in TGA format and walla.[B]

"...I want to correct the awful christian portraits that the game assign to the mongol generals when they appear in 1230 (or 1231?) in the high period. Maybe i'm a perfectionist but i don't like that bug. I don't know where the mistake is, there are four folders with the portraits images, Orthodox, Muslim, Christian and Pagan. But the game assign the christian portraits to the mongol generals (only after patching, the 1.0 version of the game didn't do this). I am afraid that i won't be able to correct this without hardcoding the game
Well i will wait for another patch :P. ..."

Theis is Kukrikhan again: hasn't someone id'd this as a patch oversight, somewhere? I'll see if I can find that. Meanwhile, thanks for the assist/reply King David. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I think the original complaint was the Mongol commanders portraits were not actually Mongols

I've never found what determines portraits... I was interested in how the game new Hero portraits just by "misc0x" so there have to be antecedants somewhere.
About the christian mongol portraits, that isn't uncommon, cause Rebels, who can be christian, join the mongols. Certainly in campaining you may notice that sometimes you get different units, perticually obvious are muslim units when they join your faction, and they bring their portraits.
