Can the behaviour of the Pope by mod'ed in any way?

so perhaps setting the FN_PAPIST to being a catholic crusading expansionist would suffice?

in terms of his other behaviour like who he allies with, crusades against and ex-comms i don't know.

A follow up to this is, would it be possible to let any other faction besides the papacy play as 'Pope' - lets say Italy or Spain or France? Would the Papacy faction function like the pope if it didn't have the 'Pope' Strategy?

I think the pope strategy is to try to keep its starting provinces and build a few assasins.

The behavior of the pope in excommunications etc. is detatched from this behavior and can probably be treated more as an automatic thing that has some dependancies on the existance of FN_PAPIST.

In other words you could make a faction have pope behaviour but it would make them really boring to play against.

Yes, changing who has the POPE behaviour will change who actsa as the peope, so if you changed Italy to POPE and the Papacy to some form of Catholic.

Have to add you can add CRUSADER to all behaviours. So that all factions will Crusade if you change the Chapter House to be buildable for all (and of course add some Order troops, or else it will be Fanatics only).
