This problem has happened many times, but now i can't seem to go by it.
The problem is that when i load a campaign, after the load bar finishes, the screen freezes somewhere in between the load screen and the campaing screen. After 5 seconds, my laptop get's the blue screen, saying that a fatal error ocurred etc.. etc.., so i need to manually restart my computer.
Usually i tried again and the second time it worked, but now i tried this about 5 times in my new romani campaign, and i still can't get past the load screen.
This usually happens once the campaign is far on, past 200bc.
It's probably because i have a kinda crappy laptop, with an integrated graphic card, but i want to know if there is a way of reducing the probability of this.
Thanks for the help

What is the size of your RAM? Maybe you want to increase the pagefile to speed up things.
Maybe your save is broken, if you upload a file (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?80870-How-%28and-why%29-to-post-a-SaveGame) I'll give it a try (don't. forget to post which .exe you are using).

I doubt it's the save game, since it happens with all factions, once i have many settlements, so the game is a bit a laggy. I have 2gb of RAM i think, but it's a laptop, so it sucks a bit i know.
how do you increase the pagefile? what is that anyways?

The pagefile is "Virtual RAM", windows uses it also as a fast repository for data. You should be fine with your size of RAM.
I must admit, for the moment I do not have a clue to help you, I'll ask some more accomplished guys.

Thanks for your help XSamatan. I know it's not to good for my computer to shuting it down manually like this, and it's also frustrating, so any help would be welcomed.

Could you do the steps again to receive a BlueScreen? On the bottom of the screen is a cryptic number, note that an post it, so we can look why you get a fatal error.

The steps?
1) I start EB
2) Go to load game,
3) choose my save game
4) wait for it to load.
Once the game is loaded it a) stops just right before it's loaded, so i still see in the screen the faction logo, but also already the map. The computer freezes i can't do anything, after 5seconds or so i get the blue screen
b) the game works for a few seconds, and then freezes (see above)
Sometimes it just works normally, and i don't get the freeze. I tend to move as little as possible in the begining of the campaing, for the copmuter to relax.
So i wrote down what was written in the screen, and it was sth like this:
Stop: 0x0000008E (0x80000004,0x806EAAC,0xA93A86C4,0x00000000).
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Got another blue screen the second time, the numbers were almost the same, but not quite ( the second line in the () was a bit different, which makes me think it's the same mistake, just at a latter stage

Hi Anubis,
thanks for that information. You have a hardware/driver error on your system. Do other programs suffer similar crashes?
In any case you should think of using the debugging program by Microsoft to see what causes the crash (Link (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/default.mspx).
Did you upgrade some drivers/ service pack/ new hardware? Is your laptop becoming hot before it crashes?

Hi, i didn't get the blue screen for awhile so i completly forgot about this post :) ... LOL...
Anyways... Thanks again Xsamatan for your help.
Since EB is the only game i play i can't really say if other programs suffer from this. I don't recall upgrading my software, also i don't think my computer gets hot before it crashes. I mean it's hot like hell everytime i play EB, but before the crash nothing special.
Since you've probably figured it out, i'm a noob when it comes to programming, so the post you posted me really confused me, and i dunno what to install and how to use it... There are so many help and how to files.... :S... Is there any simple solution how i can check if the bugs are the problem?
Like instal this, click this, click this and walla?
Thanks again :)

I think not...interpreting a bluescreen isn't that easy. I would advise you to NOT install these programs if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing.
I think the problem is the heat. You can download SIW (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=159), a small system-analysis program that I use too. It runs without installation, but you will need administrator-rights.
After started, open the "Sensors" link under Hardware. Run EB for half an hour, quit and check fast the temperatures showed of your "CPU". Under Video see the temperature of "Core temperature".
Be careful with heat on laptops, I for myself ruined my machine with that...:tnt:
