Rise and Fall: Civilizations at war (http://www.gamershell.com/download_33916.shtml)

Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War is a detailed real-time strategy game that lets players completely command one of the four mightiest empires of the ancient world: Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Persia. Rise & Fall is the first real-time strategy game to place players directly in the heart of combat as a heroic general fighting side-by-side with their troops as one of history's eight greatest heroes battling to bring victory to their nation on the battlefield.

You can legally download and play this rts for free now. CR and I played a bit and it would be cool to get some more orgahs in it.

agreed. i got this game at release like.....6 years ago? great game. love it, and the hero mode is awesome.

in fact, I tried to install it on my newer computer, but that crashed it and i had to do a system rstore (dont worry, it took me back to right before i installed it).

ill try and install it on my older computer, where it had previously been installed anyway.

shame that they think so little of it to give it out for free. i wonder if the download is compatible with vista

Does "sponsered by advertisements" = Spyware?

I haven't seen any ads, and nothing pinged my anti-spyware.

It tries to rip off other RTS's and fails so miserably.

The hero mode was fun for the first time, then useless.

Aren't most RTS's a rip off of Age of Empires or Warcraft?

one of the things i hated was one mission...i still remember it after over 4 years.as alexander the great, you were on a ship on a pre-set course, and you had to use your bow to help your troops sink ships, and if you didnt meet your quota (it was outrageous, like 35 ships or something like that) you were destroyed via trireme ram. but most of the hero missions are fairly good, with the exception of that and the last cleopatra mission where you singlehandedly storm several ships full of romans and die repeatedly.

If I wanted a free Strategy game, I'd redownload Ground Control.

Now THERE is a great game.

Oh, I think I remember this. There was a hilarious X-play review of it way back when.
