View Full Version : Problem - Firefox 3.6 doesn't have a working spell-checker - why?

The option is clearly ticked in the options/advanced panel, and yet nothing is ever high-lighted by the spell-checker regardless of how atrocious the error is.
I had no such problems with 3.5.
Using a fresh install of Win7 HP 64bit.

Why is this happening?
How do i fix it?

Cheers

Have you installed the dictionaries? Not sure where those are, but they're not always included for some odd reason.

I had the same trouble over a year ago when I installed firefox onto my new computer, for some reason they are aren't included in the new versions. If you had just updated then you wouldn't have a problem, but obviously having just installed windows, you have a fresh install of firefox. BE (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3366) and US (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3497) dictionaries.

Still does not work for the quick replies, but oh well.

EDIT: Well, refreshing the page helps.

Right click the quick reply box, and you'll see "check spelling" option.
