hi guys,

here u have a link where u can download the basic-stats. We changed the most
important things and in our opinion the gameplay is much better now. It is
important for us, that u test it and give ur input in the unitstats forum at
the totalwarassembly as well, so we can change more and improve the stats as
much as possible.

Link to unitstats: http://home.cable4u.nl/%7Epaszl-p2/medieval-stats.htm
Link to forum to discuss unitstats: http://www.totalwarassembly.com/clansociety/forum/index.cfm

We tried to select all the important information, ideas and posts on several
forums. With this info we seached for a compromise between all the opinions,
so we didnt touched things where many players had a very widespreaded
opinion. It was just impossible to make all happy in several points. But we
changed units where many had teh same opinion on, like most archery...

what we changed exactly:

- +2 moral for all units, units will fight a bit longer. less unexpected
mass routs
- most missles (especially archers and cavarchers) got a bit more accuracy
and lethality
- we reduced the range of arbas (5000 now like all the most other shooters)
- we increased the range of the javelin, from 1500 to 1700
- the alancav, a cav wich is avalaible in any faction got a +2 run and +2
chargespeed, to catch the cavarcher....see it as 1 way to counter
the CA
- arrows are increased to 30 arrows, bolts are still 28
- Crossbow, the reload time is 10 now this means 33% faster reload
time.....the mainpoint there was....why u should use crossbows if u can
buy arbas?....the only point why u would do it, could be because the
costs.... this showed not being enuf.

at the link u will find an excel-file as well, wich show u the exact
changes... till now, we didnt touched the unit-costs first the balance
and later we can discuss the costs....

again, this are basic-stats, a first step to an improvment. All are welcome
to test the stats and discuss them on teh totalwarassembly site of
Shadehonestus.
We will posts times when we are online and test the stats, so u can join us
and get some impression or can ask -almost- what u want http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

we almost finished the unitcompared tool and the logfile reader made especialy for this stats as well. so u can comapre
units and view the battles u played with the stats.
We need a united community, we need to work together, thats why we want that
everyone get the feeling he is or can be a part of the
testgroup....

thx again

Koc, one comment...

When the 1.03 was released there was an awful lot of confusion in the community about it, when people called it a patch while it wasn't one. Could you perhaps prevent this confusion now and also not call it a patch, even unofficial?

For the rest, on first glance the changes seem to be fine. I'll have to try them still, but will let you know what I think about them.

Can I second that request...

"Unofficial stats" or "Wolf stats" or pretty much anything will be fine, but can we reserve the word "patch" for CA-generated material.

I think not calling it a patch is only fair.

Alternatives, versions and the odd bug fix maybe,
are the business of modders and fans.

The word patch implies it did not work
in the first place also. This is not the case.
It may not of functioned the way you wish
but as you admitted it is not possible
to please everyboby with such things.

For this reason I and I'm sure many others will
be happy to test your stats and any other
versions that will ,I'm sure, crop up.
As for calling them patches or better versions
this is rather subjective in my view.

The fact that you have changed the stats
but kept the same formula means in itself, that
it is not a patch. The fact you trust the formula
as the base for your stats, which you seem to be happy
with, reinforces the idea that the formula is sound and
adaptable.
So like I said I will test your stats
and will be happy to asist you in any way I can.
I can even help you choose a better title http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
"New Stats for Multiplayer" sounds fine to
me.Like it said on the bottle,is the sort of description
I like http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
