The exact definition would be "Semi-pro". They get paid a little for playing hockey so they're not true amateurs, but they still have their main income from other sources than hockey(ie. a regular job). One of them sells and makes flowerbouquets btw...

Some thoughts,

The US is coming out and just blitzing the other teams, our first two games we simply out talnted Norway and Swissland. We just kept the puck in there zone and hammered them like Dresden in 45

This of course will kill us when we play the Russians and the Canadians. It will also be tough just to out athlete the Czechs and the Sweedes (although I think we can, I don't wanna bet the farm)

The defense has been dissapointing and that was kind of expected, I knew we were an offensive team but we can't keep letting 3-1 breaks happen and we need to rebound the bloody puck. If the Norweigans weren't playing like a bunch of blind invalids it would've been 6-3

So in short, to get gold Miller just needs to go unconscious between the pipes anything else and we bring home the bronze.

Yeah, Canadians beat Slovaks 3-2. The Slovaks scored their last two games near the end, and in the last minute it looked like they were going to tie the game up.

It was a good game. I hope those Slovaks get to go home with a medal; they deserve one.

Parise's goal in the third was so epic, but then the person who scored the winning goal in sudden-death overtime of the biggest hockey game of our lifetime is the Antichrist himself. Oh well, USA with silver is still amazing considering we are like 4th/5th teamwise at best. Canada is just too talented but we did better than anyone standing up to them.

Crosby was clutch in two games and padded his stats against Norway but he was far from Canada's best player and not really the big hero taken as a whole.
