One week before is next movie premiers and he's making a storm out of this....what are the odds? :idea2:

I am normally a big fan of his movies, but the last one he did was crap and this next one doesn´t promisse anything good judging by the trailer...so maybe he thinks he needs the press.

if you can´t fit into the seat you should pay for 2 seats....if there is only one seat available then you can´t fly...sorry.

I know what it's like having a weight problem, I have one myself, but even being a few pounds overweight I fit in an airlines seat...you can be a few pounds heavy due to genetics or being a bit lazy (my problem) but being so heavy you don´t fit in the seats in a different case all together.

He said he could fit into one seat with the armrests down, so I don't think he was fat enough that he should have been forced to buy two seats or get off.

From SFTS' site:

To improve working conditions, healthcare, and overall quality of life for millions of Americans, weight must be added to the list of categories covered in anti-discrimination laws. This can be accomplished on a federal, state, or local level

That is redonkuous.

Oh, wait, there's more (http://www.naafaonline.com/dev2/about/docs.html)...

Since people undertaking diets are rarely given sufficient information to allow them to give true informed consent, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance strongly discourages participation in weight-reduction diets.
...
That local, state and federal legislatures introduce, pass, enact, and enforce legislation which protects consumers against dangerous or ineffective diets and misleading diet advertising.

That state and federal regulatory agencies adopt regulations and closely monitor and control all aspects of the $58 billion+* diet industry.

That all commercials for weight-loss diets and diet products be banned from radio and television. The lack of product success, negative health consequences and the extreme negative impact of anti-fat propaganda on the self-esteem and quality of life of
fat people results in discrimination against people of size.

That federal regulations require all diets and weight-loss products to clearly display a health warning (similar to those found on cigarettes) regarding possible hazards and side effects.
...
That institutions such as the military, hospitals, schools, mental institutions, or prisons provide adequate food and not force anyone to diet against their will.

That employers, schools, and judges never use weight loss or dieting as a condition for employment, promotion, admission, avoiding incarceration, adoption or custody issues.

That health care professionals and medical institutions never deny other medical treatment to patients who choose not to diet.

Gah, I'm not even going to post the one on physical fitness (short version; being fat doesn't mean you're not fit!).

What say you America? Was SW airlines in the right? No, SW was wrong. It's not the fault of the obese that they are overweight. It is the fault of the food corporations, who sell a great deal of anything, except food. But how are ordinary people to know about all of that?

People who work out, on the other hand, know exactly what they are doing and therefore ought to be punished real bad, like paying extra fees for airfares for being so heavy.

He's got enough money that he can easily afford local fresh produce, you don't have to go on Jenny Craig to lose weight, just take a walk down to the farmer's market like the rest of us non daily physical exertion types. Though he is from Jersey so I don't know if that novel concept has caught on there.

He's got every right to be overweight if he wants to be. And SW has every right to charge him for the extra seat if he don't fit in one. Don't agree? Fly another airline pal.

So the guy has money to launch a campaign against SW airlines but doesn't spend said money on a gym membership.

Hmmmm, seems like the guy needs to stop whining to me. It's been pointed out already that sitting next to overweight people on an airline isn't fun for anyone. It severely minimises your comfort, it's harder to get out to go to the toilet and when your overweight fellow passenger feels it's time to go to sleep, they snore like there's no tomorrow thus preventing you from sleeping.

In all honesty if I was flying long haul and was sat next to an extremely obese person, I mean like really obese, I would probably try and get a new seat.

EDIT:

The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance is calling for a Southwest boycott. It issued a statement urging "people of size to seek out and travel airlines that do not have such discriminatory policies."

This is hilarious. A society for the acceptance of gluttony? Give me a break. There's a reason fat people get such a negative press and in most cases it is just. There is rarely an excuse for being obese, being sympathetic and accepting to those who abuse something, be it food, alcohol or drugs is nearly always wrong in my book.

He has a movie coming out next week....so he probably can put the cost of the campaign under movie promotion.

Didn't he pay for two seats next to eachother, then decided to go on another flight where there was a problem due to it having a single seat?

That's what the article says, so you gotta wonder why he whines about it now.

If you pay for a seat that is what you should get. Most owe it to their selves but not all, I don't like this it's cruel. Recently saw this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx-3jYJkUWQ

What would such a thing like this do to a person like that.

Fat people should be a calculated in, are they going to charge me less because I am slender.
