The Wargamer has a new Historical Battle Scenario available for download,
The Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066
authored by Creative Assembly this is a challenging battle set shortly before the beginning of the Early Campaign. At Wargamer.com you will find an historical outline, plus a description and walkthrough for the battle/scenario along with some screenshots.

Ye with a readme and a file structure
would be nice, or at least one of those.
I think it's a bit strange it didn't have
one.I know you don't have to be a rocket

It should read something like this
stamfordbridge2.inf
stamfordbridge2.jjm
install to:
Total War\Medieval - Total War\Battle\Maps
The rest of the files install to:
Total War\Medieval - Total War\Battle\batinit\Historical Battles\Stamford Bridge
