Sorry for any of you guys who just read the Topic Title and spit your coffee out in disbelief.

So just what is "Modding". What factors in the game does it affect? Just colours or special logos, or attributes, play as non playable factions etc...

How will it affect my game? Does it send things wonky? Will I not be able to play on MP if any of my files are modified (I think the answer to the last one is yes, so how do you get around it) - worth mentioning, I'm not interested in cheating on MP.

Please let me know.

[B]There is nothing wrong with your question. *Cleaning coffee spill* Mod stands for Modification or augmentation of what is already there. Try a few of the mods here and you will begin to see how it changes the game, also read read read this and many other forums were individuals find ways to make the game more challenging and fun. A simple example would be simply learning to change the rank struckture of the factions in single player The developers of this game made it quite easy for us to change and modify a few aspects like rank, valour, dread and other things in the campmap\startpos\early\high\late files.
Example: This is a rank modification of the golden jorde tittle of a leader in the khazar province
AddTitle:: ID_KHAZAR "Warrior Master" +6 +6 +6 +6 0 0
When the computer plays against you and you are say, Bizantine or almonad, This leader will do his her best to eliminate your faction. Were in the default original settings the computer is kind of dumm and numb to the way you play.. This mongol leader will outflank you in battle and even manage his province in a way that is most advantageous to his her faction. just a simple example of modding the game as they say...

Mods are not for mp really.
They can be as long as every player has the same set of
files. For example if you had King David's Camalot mod
then you could play on line with others using this
mod. This means you can't cheat because everybody
has the same files.

KD,

I'm going to do that right now

But what do the numbers pertain to, ie what attributes- and how the hell did you guys figure them out??

BTW, in your Camelot mod, will installing it replace the current MTW campaigns or will they still be accessible?

You should now have an idea of the depth of my modding chalengedness.

Cid, we find out by making lots of mistakes http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

and retrying, and reloading the game, and retrying and loading the game and retrying and.......continue into nearly distance future.

The Camelot Mod will not replace the original early high late campaigns it will add itself to the choices in the campaign screen. Barocca did a great job with the install program, giving you the ability to restore your game at will without all the camelot enjancements.
