View Full Version : Sys Req same as EBI?
Sorry to start a new thread for this:- question as above. I play EB atm with Large Unit/Medium graphics without problems. Since I don't have M2TW, is EBII expected to run in a similar manner?
Thanks.

Well, considering that M2TW is more taxing game than RTW in the first place, and EB2 will probably be more taxing than vanilla M2TW, I wouldn't hold your breath on it.
You can get both M2TW and the Kingdoms expansions for only about 15 US$ total now (on Amazon), so I would just suggest buying them and see how vanilla runs on your computer. Then take that and imagine how the game would run with a bit more taxing mod on top of that. Even better, you could download a more taxing mod for M2TW vanilla and see how that runs to give an estimation of how well you'll do with EB. For the effects of heavy scripting I would suggest Deus Lo Vult (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=219295), and for pretty units Broken Crescent (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=274922) works well.
In my personal experience, M2TW campaigns (both modded and unmodded) tend to run just as fast as EB1 campaigns, but that's probably because the mods I play are not as script heavy, so EB2 will probably be slower. However, on the battle map I get more slowdown with M2TW than with EB1. However, I can still play it on the highest settings generally, and my computer is three years old and not really meant for gaming.
Try this site http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/intro.aspx it's not a virus.
Remember however that just because your pc can run a game doesn't mean it might not lag.
On the argument of heavy scripting, I think the team has stated that Medieval II has a better way of dealing with scripts, so expect a slight increase when it comes to that.
