A quick example for making some changes to the 'assassin_acting.Buf'.
1) open the 'assassin_acting.Buf'.
2) do what you want on the image.
3) just choose 'save bif' in the menu. (of course, you need to backup the original one first)
4) now you can enter the game and see the chnages on the screen.
Only if you create a new bif, you need to set the number by hand. (( Now, I guess the number represents the center of the image in x-coordinate. ))
I have not time to test this myself this morning,
