Playing EB

I've been looking at the forums and I can't find any topics that are relevent, I have tripped over the first hurdle ><

I dloaded EB 1.1 and 1.2 and can't get either to work. I tried validating installation by following the instructions and it made a new notepad document, but for some reason it was blank O_o was it supposed to be?

When I load up EB it launches RTW and shows the EB home screen which is all in well good, but it doesn;t progress further.... have I missed an important step? Or am I just over complicating things?

I'd appreciete some help on this matter as I think this is a brilliant lookign Mod and I'm desperate to play. I also apologise in advance if there was a topic that covered my question, even so, could someone post a link? thanks a lot

ok I now have 1.1 working :) any help sorting 1.2 would be greatly apprecieted

You may want to check the EB-FAQ (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=84854) to get accustomed to game-play.

See this guide on how-to installing EB (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270).

The short version is:
install RTW (not in Program Files)
patch to 1.5
install EB 1.1 in the RTW folder
install EB 1.2 in the RTW folder
apply the fixes (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=109936) to the places they belong
start EB

The mod itself takes very long to load, depending on you system up to 15 minutes, so if it does not do anything in the first five minutes, don't worry.
